  1. Hi everyone, I purchased a 71 z prod date 03/71. It sat in a field for a few years and there is a lot to do. I got it running fairly well, considering her age. I've replaced the clutch slave to get her to shift ok. Now, I'm working on the brake system. I'm in the process of putting the front hub assemblies back on with new wheel bearings/new rotors/new calipers/new hoses and hard lines and I failed to keep track of which original hub was driver side and which was passenger side. Does it matter? I've seen a couple of references saying they are different. If so, how can I tell? Thanks for all the great information on this forum. Zupreder
  2. Just got some Rota Grid V (15x8") and I tried to test fit just one rim to the car. well i tried the fronts first and the rim wont sit flush to the mounting pad because the front hub is tapered I guess and may be to large at its base. I did some research and the front bores are like 73mm and the Rota's are 73.1mm a close fit. but it should fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do or if anyone has had problems similar to this? I was thinking of sanding the crap out of the bore to snug it up. Link to the wheels i got-> http://www.ebay.com/itm/15X8-ROTA-GRID-V-WHEELS-4X114-3-RIM-0MM-SPORT-BRONZE-/370492344422?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5643108866 Thankyou!!
  3. Hey All, While I have the suspension out and replacing more bits and bobs on the car, I decided to refresh the rotors and brakes while changing the shocks and springs. I went to install some new 240z rotors I picked up but they are much taller in the hat then the old rotors I have. After looking around here and hybridz I am wondering if I have had my hubs replaced by 280z hubs some where in the cars life, or that I have the wrong new rotors. How I can tell the difference? The photo below show the difference in rotor hat sizes, even taking into account the wear of the rotor~2mm or so the hat is ~8-10mm taller than the old one. I am wondering if I had 280z rotors on the car? Does anyone have a 280z rotor with measurements so that I can compare? Or if there is a way to look at the hubs and know for certain if it is a 240z or 280z hub? I searched for this information all over but I could not find anything. If I missed it please send me to that thread.
