Is bigger better?
Mudge, . Have you seen anyone use the "quick links" that MSA offers? They are an adjustable end link, just wondering if anyone has used these and if they are worth the 45.00 bucks? I had planned on upgrading to poly end link bushings, but thought this might be a nice alternative. Thanks, Zlish

Is bigger better?
Thanks guys, good info. I mostly will autox the car, with a slow switch to track racing, mostly at Infenion Raceway. I have actually come to find out that the bar is a 1" bar, so i don't think the change will be that drastic. I was just hoping to get a better than stock bar on there. I just put on strut bars front and rear and now i am going to change out all the bushings when i switch bars. Thanks again for the help.

Is bigger better?
Thanks 2many, that is the knowledge i was looking for. I am only going to be using this car for racing, so sloowly but surely i will be upgrading. You are saying that i need, basically race type springs to handle a bigger bar, any suggestions? I am ordering Tokicko 5 way adjustables and would like to add good springs at the same time, so any spring advice would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks again for the help!, i obviously need it, i am feeling my way through the dark and learning on the fly.

Well, what can i say, the wife said;" you look delish bending over the fender of the Z" and thus the world stopped for a moment as the words flew through my small brain and i came up with....you got it Zlish, added a little to make it sound more grown up.:stupid:

Is bigger better?
Hi all, Just wondering if bigger sway bars are better for racing? I was going through some of my old parts and came across a 3 in. sway that i forgot i had! So, that said, should i put it on the front or on the back or: don't put it on at all? Thanks, Paul

720 Hp !!!!!!
I want one! I figure it will mount nicely behind the seats! Might need to throw an anchor on the front end though.

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
As someone who has had both a v8 and a stock 240 the power diferences do not compare obviously. However, neither do the handling capabilities, the v8 if done properly will weigh somewhere around 150 lbs more in the front end, Unless you do everything with alluminum and move the battery to the rear then you can get a pretty close 50/50 weight ratio. As far as long term resale value goes, there is no way you can get a better value from ANY car than its stock condition. Look at the recent Barrett Jackson auction as an example, the high dollar cars were the cars that were restored to their original condition. Collectors and true enthusiast want cars in stock Original condition. If you want a faster car with throw your head back power then throw a v8 in and hang on. My v8 had 375 hp and the skid marks where not only left on the road if ya know what i mean...

71 240 with 350 Chevy
Just sold this Z a few of weeks ago to get a down payment for another car (new one) for work. I originally bought it from a guy in Sonoma. I miss all the hp all ready!! I still have my 66 Stang with 350 horse though, so when i need a fix i go for a spin around the block in that!

my first time
Hey Dre, I am in Santa Rosa, let me know the next time you plan on going to Infineon, we can hook up over there and have a litlle fun on the track. I am trying to get ready for the SCCA event in April. I have nothing fancy, just my stock 260, but it's gonna be fun! See ya, Paul

Paint
Thanks guys great response! I can alwaays count on the two of you for good advice! I will be painting my 260 for race purposes so this may be just the ticket ( i sold the 240). I am also taking my 66 Mustang to bare metal and thinking of using the orange color they have on that site, along with black racing stripes down the middle to pay omage to my San Francisco Giants. However i do want a deep finish so i hope that this will work here. The only question i have Escalon, is when painting stripes, base color first then stripes or vice versa? Thanks again for the great advice, Paul

Att: Nissan Design Studio
As an owner of a 66 Mustang and a true Ford enthusiast, i would have to say hooorayyyy for the new design! It is at least an attempt to get back the original design, unlike Nissan. However had Nissan stuck with this design (see pic) i would have been very very happy.

Dieseling
My Mechanic told me that after adjusting the carbs to run evenly, that he could not get the front carb to idle below 900, he said that the one carb looks like it could be on it's way out... rebuilding might be neccesary down the line. My knowledge when it comes to carbs is very minimal. Is it out of line for me to ask to have this readjusted? Or does someone just have a pair of new 72 SU's theyed like to donate:love: Yeah riiiggghhhht.

Dieseling
HI all, just had my carbs tuned, they were way out of wack. Now since i have gotten the car back it has been dieseling after i turn it off, what causes this? Before i take my car back and yell i kinda wanna know what the hell is goin on if ya know what i mean! My car did not do this before i had them tuned. Thanks, Paul:ermm:

For Sale
Escalon, That is the EXACT configuration i am working on! Ascertaing a trailer this week (for the 260) and everything else is exactly how you described! I think it's great how we all think alike when it comes to where "things" should be! 2Many- a Cobra Mustang would be nice, but, they start at about 42,000.00- i don't think so! I am glad my selling of my Z could provide this much interest (just not the right kind, )

For Sale
Man u guys are tough! She is giving me the NEW Xterra so that i will be able to transport clients, a little easier than putting a couple of them in the rear hatch area of the Z besides, i only have a 1 1/2 car garage as it is, too many cars now, if i sell it to someone i know i will be much happier, if it doesn't sell, thats cool as well!
