  1. I've seen old Nardi hub kits on eBay to fit Datsun. That's what I've got. Ok, so let's see some pics!

I believe he stated it was a coupe when he was reciting the classified. This is beginning to sound like the problem they've had in the UK with so many of their Datsuns being auctioned off or stolen then shipped to Africa. That enterprise was lucrative; tons of Datsuns have been siphoned out of the UK. Some savvy entrepeneur is probably reading this thread right now and thinking "Wow, I could make a bit of cash by picking up one of these 240K's cheap here in Oz and shipping it to my uncle Akhmed who'd sell it for a considerable profit back home."

Got it. Now can the C110 "Skyline" badges be confused with those for the C210 or is it just the "GT" badges that are an issue?

Now do you know for a fact that the C110 GT badges have the same pin measurement as the C110 GL badge holes?

the zed type isn't the same as the 240k http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240Z-Rear-Emblem-Early-1969-1973_W0QQitemZ4653759083QQihZ002QQcategoryZ102336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

How much does a reskin cost? I'll be checking into that in the future, since there's a lot of places here that refurbish muscle car dashes.

Well, the SR into the 240Z is a great combo for power/handling, so it should really help to resolve the nose-heavy characteristics of the LWB Kenmeri. So hopefully you plan on tracking or autoxing it to see how it all comes together!

My guess is that when you ordered your GT-R, you had the option of either a race or street version. A street version would of course come equipped with a heater, so perhaps enthusiasts would remove their heaters for effect (much the same way they remove the factory air box). Either that or they found a way to register their race version and drive it on the street--Naahh! BTW, I was in the midst of offering the minutia that the GT-R shift knob has a red color shift pattern when it dawned on me that the side "GT" badge is also red. And ... the GT shift knob pattern is blue and the corresponding "GT" badge is also blue. The GT-X knob insert is gold (I LOVE GOOOLD!) and the "GT" badge is ... well, you know the rest. There's also green "GT" badge with red outline. I believe that came on the limited edition GT-XMAS. I so love a trivia mosh pit ... Take it away Professor!
  11. Actually, that green doesn't look bad on 510's. How about this? Not the greatest picture obviously, but still get an idea of paint combo. I actually like this. I wonder how he got those wide front wheels/tires to work without rubbing?

:surprised I promise to submit all my documentation to you first thing on Monday morning, "Professor M" Seriously, we should exchange image collections like we talked about earlier.

There are some other interior differences in addition to those Lachland mentioned, although I'm not sure if they matter so much aside from getting rid of the wood veneer. Some GT-R's had no radio, some had no heater or dimmer/emergency controls. Most have no clock or lighter. Somebody was mentioning that you can peel the wood veneer off to expose the brushed metal on the instrument cluster. I don't know if there's brushed metal material under the console wood veneer, but that obviously has to come off either way. BTW, I have seen at least one GT-R that had the glove box strip in brushed metal. Door panels seem to be similar to the 240K, and although some GT-R replicas use the brushed metal bottom trim that comes on the 240K, on some of the real GT-R's, they appear to be all black.

440, I like what you've added, but I don't see it as contrary to anything I've said.

Sorry to nose in, but is this regarding the Challenge Fibreglass (Melbourne) moulds?
  16. well, the white c10 4dr didn't sell for BIN $12K. the owner also has a few other JDM Nissans recently imported including a Hakosuka 2dr and Bluebird Coupe if not already sold, he should be posting them FS in the near future

when it rains it pours i know a few people have done the v8 swap, but i think it misses the point of owning a kenmeri

Since I'm new here, I'll bite: What's special about a manual car? Can't you just convert it over? Or does that not sit well with you knowing the car was once an automatic?
  19. The R spec rear arches look similar to the fronts, but the flared lip on these is too wide and looks a bit odd. Whoever did this was probably more interested in wheel fitment than authenticity.

The RB-S30 swap is increasing in popularity. It's newer technology and looks pretty cool as well. Many of these z-hybrids are purpose built street/drag cars. The extra weight affects road course and autocross handling, but has less of an effect on a straight-line car. An RB-KGC swap would be a good choice because the Kenmeri is rarely a purpose built track car, rather a GT cruiser. The twin-cam cylinder head hearkens back to the original "R" spec models without the fuss and cost of an S20. The modern induction is functional and efficient, but triple sidedraughts would blend an interesting combination of old and new technology, even more of an homage to the S20 R spec, especially if combined with extractors. The SR-S30 seems to be better suited for track use for obvious reasons, so it'll be interesting to see how much of an improvement the SR swap is to the handling of the KGC. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is a Cedric/Q45 V8 swap. Plenty of room under the bonnet of either the S30 or KGC, lots of grunt and growl, potentially better weight distribution, and still a Nissan product for the purists.

Hey all, I was reading the Wikipedia entry on Nissan Skyline and wondered if anybody here (Aussie most likely) wrote any of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Skyline Google some of the phrases and see them pop up all over the web, so you gotta wonder which was written first
  22. is it the jdm gl grill you're thinking of?
  23. I took a friend of mine to see this car a few months ago. The owner is being honest saying it needs work. Not for the faint of heart or for somebody unable to do all the welding, panel beating and paintwork themselves. Having said that, it'd be fantastic if the owner could find the right buyer who'd be able to restore this car and actually drive it. In SoCal, there are only 4 Kenmeri's confirmed (unless somebody can produce some evidence to the contrary).
