welcome aboard, as u know this site is awesome! you can find darn near everything u'll ever need to know about Z's.
  5. i just want to know if they will fit onto my Z :'( hahaha... all this info is great but does anyone know if they will mount right on with the out and modding of the proper intake manifold?
  6. haha yes i agree with u 100% there... that is a fact!
  7. heh wow... i would absolutely love to have all that but my problem is the $$$$.... i plan to race my Z a bit, so i am lookin for some crazy stuff... The wallets lookin a little sad right now tho
  8. i plan on running a stage 3 cam... and eventually high compression pistons... i wanted to do the carb flip anyways... anything i can get my hands on as long as they are not flat tops, ill take
  9. i didnt really get a good look.... I know i should have but they were in front of a $100k car so i didnt really want to fiddle around back there haha... They were off a HUUUGEEE straight 6... biggest damn one ive ever seen

i tore my dash out in about 45 minutes aswell... didnt care to mark anything tho because it was all being sold. My 280z took about the same time to take out, but i didnt really care if it got even more cracked because i plan on buying a full dash cover. I found it to be a fairly easy job its just difficult to squeeze the screwdriver into the bolts near the window. If my car were fully restored, that would be a different story... prolly take me a good hour, hour and a half just to be sure i have everything marked and the bolts in a safe area marked and ready for installation

this happened to me on my 72' but it just turned out to be the wrong firing order. I too blew the muffler up... sounded like someone fired a shotgun next to my head.... hmm... uve covered pretty much everything i could think of, if i were u id keep messing around with the distributer... advancing and retarding the spark.
  13. was over a buddy of mines the other day, he restores classic aston martins. couple of amazing cars there... anyways he had a straight six from a parts car that had tripple webbers... any idea if they are compatible with a Z? if he said he can most likely get em to me.

ahhh... forgot about the fuel injector holes haha.... thanks prolyl woulda noticed when i got into it tho. i have an N42 head, but i have a stock 240z head layiin around, N42 better even if im running SU's and a stage 3 cam?

when i swap out my EFI for SU's im goin to need a mechanical fuel pump right? would i need the gas tank aswell or would a 280z tank be compatible? Im doing the swap on a 1976 280z.... anything else i should know aswell?
  20. im not going for show quality, im going for a nice looking, sturdy, sound Z... then put her on the road, and as she is on the road i plan on doing mods like a stage 3 cam, SU's, roll cage etc. I want to enjoy it while i work on it and watch it become complete. Im to much of an anxious person to just let it sit there haha... maybe she will eventually be a show car, but i am lookin for a performance Z with a sharp look
  21. as long as it was sealed its should be alright (as in the intake manifold and exhaust manifold were on)... not much gets in there to affect it. If u feel safer turning it over slowly without the starter, then do so, however i just didnt really care... I believe you should be fine just following the usuall procedures. I had brought this up when i first bought my 72 240z in a thread, if u run a search on that im sure u'll find some more useful information.
  22. well i would treat this as i would any other restoration project u get ur hands on. Perform all maintnence procedures on it (fluids, plugs etc.) i have done this with several Z's that have been sitting for many years and had them running in one night. Run a search here on the forums and im sure u'll find ever step on what to do when first starting a Z after many years. Dont get anxious tho, make a list even, like mentioned before u dont want to pump sludge all through ur fuel lines. In my 76 280z i had just flushed the tank, added some gas treatment in one fill up, then some cleaner in another. I changed radiator fluid, engine oil, pulled the plugs changed em, new wires, distributor cap, rotor, and i cleaned off all my fuel injection relays. take ur time do it right and u should be fine
  23. that is insane... heh that thing is a BEAST and a half!

appears to have an l24.... u can see the air cleaner in one side shot. weird how someone would pick a Z to do that too.
  25. damn man! thats no good!... ive got plenty of parts laying around but u live quite far away, and im sure u can find someone thats on the same side of that country to help you ... best of luck man! sorry to hear/see the bad news
