  1. I have about 15k in new parts alone for my hls30-150826 that does not include any rebuilt parts.see when I got the car it had beed sitting in the same garage spot since 1983.it had been partially torn down and boxed up I got the car w/less than 60k miles on the odo and all of the records from th e first owner.it's a 73 that I just could'nt pass up.most of the parts I have I've been collecting since my first z and never used any of them.some I have loaned out.most I've sold through my business. I bought 15-20k in nos z parts from an old employer[some of which will also go on my future 70 that I'm working on bying at this time.you may not believe me when I tell the vin [hls30- 00025] Ive been working on this car for the last 7 years at my currant employer and now she wants sell it for 5600.00.]wish me luck. I know your [our] site does not deal w/ the newer z's but I also own a 90 n/a which I'm curranlty doing a twin turbo conversion on.$$$$$$$$$ I'll make up some of my money back by selling the vg30de,5spd,harness and the ecu from the 90. 2. So dave...What kind of struts do you have and how much did they cost you?
  3. Dude.............nice job on those rims must have took a while to do. maybe you should get them coated for protection. JZM
  4. For some reason I cannot see your pointer If you could show me with your finger or pointer on one of your own pictures I could be more help. P.S. I just noticed your in australia.lucky you. JZM
  5. I sure wish I could see your pump.[no punn intended]
  6. Look I don't even know if it's the pump thats even leaking.but if it is leaking at either of the body diaphragm gaskets it needs to be rebuilt.if it's leaking out of the pivots on either side of the pump than it needs to be replaced. but if it's leaking out of the small breather holes on the lower case than you could very well have had some sludge build-up in the pump which case a good rebuild would take care of. if cleaning the pump and or rebuilding the pump does not help and its still leaking out of the lower breathers[if so equ] than you may have excessive crank case pressure due to passage blockage or cylinder blow-by[weak sealing piston rings].which does'nt really sound like the problem.there are so many posibilities of oil leak locations.like just to the left of the pump just below the engine removal hook at the cylinder head to block.I'm talking about the oil pressure port at the front of the cylinder head,it comes from the cam pressure feed and goes to the t-chain tensioner.this passage is not shown in early drawings, but it's there.and of course the front cover.Hay you never know maybe the oil pressures higher than it was the other day and it's coming out to say HI! As I've said to so many of my fellow Z car owners and customers, good luck! Good photos dave! JZM
  7. You said oil leak by a small bump on the cylinder head to block? if by chance you mean the one just above the oil filter or the one just above the fuel pump or pump block off area.then yes you do need to replace your head gasket.it will only get worse with time. this is the only true fix for a head gasket leaking oil at these places.both of these places are oil to cylinder head oil pressure gallies. the center one goes to the cam towers and the oil spray bar [if equ].the other goes from there back down to the front cover to the tensioner then back into the crank case.good luck. JZM
  8. So what it sounds like is you have a fuel problem.you said back carb as if you know thats were it's coming from.start there.also sounds like heat soaking .this does not [sound]like an ignition problem.ck fuel to carbs as panchovisa mentioned.fuel filter, fuel lines, etc. also if you have a set of early carbs, put them on.you won't regret it.be sure to check your fuel filter for any tank goo as in rust, corrosion, etc.don't forget to check fuel pressure.I hope you have some sort of service manual to also aid you in your quest. good luck! JZM
  9. Tell you what if by chance you exp.vapor lock.install it.I've put units on 70-78 to keep them a little cooler.or you can fix it up and put it on just because it looks cool.. JZM
  10. Sounds to me like you need to just replace the fuel pump.or rebuild the unit you have.kits are available.
  11. Almost looks like A cop car off one of the earlier GODZILLA flicks:smoke:.
  12. Before you think of putting one of those cute little K&N filters on your v/cover try removing your oil filler cap or your oil dip stick. just to see how it runs-did it die? EFI crankcase systems are sealed.unless you have an aftermarket cam I would keep it sealed.
  13. Baby seals hehehehehe/chucklechuckle ! Daves not lying.he did work at one time! [at car toys]I thought it was longer than that though.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing anyone.I'm just one of [those] Z guys and I'm very proud of it.I am open minded.[i did say nice install]. JZM
  15. No. the hole diameter is not the same.the 280z is larger.but if your thinking of useing a 280z fire wall chunk it does'nt matter.sometimes its just easier to go to the local hard ware store and match something up. JZM
  16. Back to my Q. Why [puy a dvd in your Z]? Sorry bambikiller240/carl the Q earlier was not for you.It sound a little RICE to me. Whats next X-BOX! Is that how you see your Z????.Nice install thought. JZM
  17. Ed. Part 24250-e4100 Is The Correct Part #. The Part Has Changed In Looks. Sometimes You'll Get Lucky And Get The Old Style. I've Got Some Good Used Ones In Stock.i Gave You The Part # 24250-n4500 Because It's Closer To The Original One.the Inside Diameter Is Slightly Larger.but It Works And Looks Stock.it Seals Up Better If You Use A Thicker Wire Wrap On The Harness. Jzm
  18. Why ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????.
  19. TRY 24250-N4500 I'ts for a 280z but its the same part. JZM
  20. Done lots. everyone who's done one does it differently.some kits install better than others.I use a kit of my own design.it works ok for me.finding a kit that lowers and moves the engine back is what you want.my kit gives you about a 49/51 weight distribution.or at least pretty close.exhaust is not easy to solve, mostly due emission laws etc.money, time and space are also not easy.there is so much stuff out for these. parts are all easy to by.cooling the beast [depending on ponies]is a major concern.Trans will need to be fitted to trans tunneldrive shaft will be custom. Like I said ealier all these parts are out there.USEING THE RIGHT PARTS ONLY COMES FROM EXPERIENCE. sounds like fun to me :devious: JZM
  21. Sounds to me like someone boobooed . Let me get this stright you installed a radio and now your car does not start?........??????????? As mentioned before disconnect the radio.trace all your wires that you installed to give power and ground to the unit.just to make sure you did'nt cross anything[it's happend to the best of us]while checking those wires check any wire and connection on the way.[double checking the whole way] check the fuse box, check the EFI/Ignition relay on the drivers side just above your left knee it's about 3x1x1 in size make sure you have a good connection[no green stuff],check the under hood fuse links.I've seen these blow and not break there skins.so check'em good. What really bothers me is that you don't have spark due to this.It sounds like something was shorted. don't forget to check that wonderful ignition box by the fuse box. I'ts always hard to diag something you can not see.good luck. JZM
  22. Ok,....this transmission will not fit as is.I am working on a solution. Yes they fit in the trans tunnel just fine.[you can fit a late 80s gm style 6 speed w/a corvette bellhousing w/no mods]Yes you wiil need to fab a new cross member using the stock mount just as I do w/ the 83 turbo T-5 trasmission. And yes anything is possible if we [uS Z GUYS] put our heads together. The company Im working with said we can deal w/the bell housing issue two ways.1st-cut the end of the bell housing off and graft a 83 T-5 end back on w/proper welds and support braces.[braces with-in the bell]2nd make a plate to attatch to the end of the bell [after its been cut down to size]. clutch?...you ask..guess what-the input shaft diameter is the same!! However the lenght is longer which can be made up with the lenght of the bell.As to what year clutch kit would work best.....could be almost any year that the inner diameter of the bell will allow.also depends on what depth the bell is cut to. And yes a custom drive shaft will be needed. JZM
