R180 gear swap?
An alternative - if the ratio is acceptable - is to use a R180 diff from an automatic 240Z, which I believe has a 3.54 ratio. Shipping a diff isn't that expensive if you do it through Greyhound. You have to pick it up at the bus terminal, but its the cheapest way I know to send something big.

Another introduction and a question
Smacked from the front..... I'd pass. There are enough Zs out there that have not been hit. The price seems high to me - but Z cars go cheap in AZ, I don't know about CO.

Valve covers
My 04/70 has the NISSAN 2400 OHC cover/E31 head and my 10/70 and my later 240s annd 260 have the NISSAN OHC cover/E88 head. My 2 cents.

New here from South Africa
Here is an obvious question - do you guys drive on the left side of the road? I saw your reference to "HS30-H" in your first post, but then one of the cars has the steering wheel on the left side like we have there in the US. Just curious. Welcome!

Thanks guys!

Rear anti-sway bar brackets - where to find?
I have attached a picture of a sway bar like mine. It goes in front of the diff. The two brackets (and bushings) I need are in the pic attached to the bar. It may be aftermarket, I have no idea. Any help apreciated...

Rear anti-sway bar brackets - where to find?
I recently came across a rear anti-sway bar that I'd like to put on my 72 Z. I just got a set of end links with bushings, so now all I need are the two brackets and bolts that attach the bar to the frame. Anybody know where I could find these? Would it be a Nissan 260z/280z part? I hate to go to the dealer for these unless I have a part number, they just scratch their heads when it comes to old Z parts. Thank you in advance...

30 Z parts cars for sale in CA - got one FREE
I must have missed that car. I don't remember seeing any blue interior cars. There was one white 70 car that was raced out. It had a roll bar, E31 head on an L28 motor with a 4 barrell and a turbo. It also had an R200 rear end but still had the stock 4 speed. Electric fuel pump and ignition too. The only good body part on the car was the hood which had the turbo scoop on the drivers' side. I almost went for that car but I'm an original equipment kind of guy. There was a guy looking at it, I don't know if he ended up getting it or not. It was getting late and I had a long drive ahead!

Black interior. One of the tool box lids is broken, but thats about it. Even the console is in good shape. Good door panels too. I'll be keeping those for my 70 - speaker hole disease.

30 Z parts cars for sale in CA - got one FREE
Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290206808383&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 I called the guy and said I was from Phoenix and I'd come take a look. Real nice guy. He runs a dog rescue charity, and somebody in Phoenix had donated a vehicle (a nice Taurus). Since I would be going there with an empty tow dolly anyway, he said if I delivered the car, he would give me my pick of the parts cars. They are all rusty and in various stages of completeness, but I found a 10/70 car that has an almost perfect interior (except the dash of course). It even has the original radio and fuse box cover (minus the lid). It has AC, original steering wheel, 4 screw carbs and bumpers that are in OK but not perfect shape. Rusty doors and fenders, but a nice set of slotted aluminum wheels with good tires even. I had a marathon driving day - Phoenix to about an hour north of LA and back, but I got a lot of nice Series 1 parts in the deal. Not Bad!

Hatch glass
Thanks Geezer, I learn something new every day.

Hatch glass
Greyhound does not go to Canada. I've tried. I tried to send a door and a hatch to Quebec and Greyhound said they didn't go there with freight or passengers. Maybe that's just from Phoenix, I don't know. FYI.

Hatch glass
Greyhound will ship your hatch for $50 or less anywhere in the country. I love to use them for large bulky items. They go by weight and the length of the longest side. You don't have to box it either. I shipped one from Phoenix to North Carolina and just wrapped it in cardboard and shrink wrap.

Blast Cabinet - Is this a good deal?
Harbor Freight has a free-standing blast cabinet on sale right now. The working dimensions are 33'' W x 22'' D x 14'' to 22'' H. It has a 40 pound capacity and comes with 1 ceramic nozzle. It has access though the side door and has a light. It is $179. I can get it locally at the store so there would be no shipping cost. I know HF generally has cheap stuff, but this seems like a great deal. Anybody have one of these? Here is the link: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93608 Thanks in advance...

What would you like to add to your S30?
5 speed, R200 LSD, New springs and shocks... I'll be driving to San Fran to pick up a parts car that has all this next weekend.

Blasting Media - Suggestions Wanted
For valve covers, glass beads would be best? I will be getting a blast cabinet from Harbor Freight next week, so I'll be buying media too.

Who does head work in AZ?
I have an E31 head that I'd like to have reworked - bigger valves, porting and rebuild. It came out of a parts car I acquired recently. I'm in Phoenix - anybody know of somebody local that has experience with Z heads? I don't want to just take it to a machine shop unless I know they are Z guys. Thank you in advance...

Poor #299: Not for the feint of heart!
I would jump on it if it wasn't so far. The lowest quote I got to ship it to phoenix is $950. It would take a week and twice as much to go fetch it on my tow dolly. Dang.

1970 240Z Cargo Strap Rod Question
I have one on my 70. It goes across the car right behind the seat and goes accross and over the tool compartments. I was told that it was a dealer add-on and very rare.

Where to cut out a Floor Pan?
I have a rusty shell with a good Drivers' floor pan that I need to cut out. I will also be cutting off the roof. Where should I make my cuts on this floor pan? I will be using a saws-all. I want the future owner to have as many options as possible. Thank you in advance...

Anybody ever ship parts to Mexico City?
I have a prospective EBay customer who wants me to ship a few small items to Mexico City. Is their mail system reliable? If I ship USPS, I know I won't be able to get a tracking number (like any international package), but I don't know how trustworthy their mail system is. My wife is a filipina and I know better than to try to send any package of value to her family in the Philippines via regular mail. Anyone have any experience with this? Thank you....

White Interior
I am going white on white for my 72. Interior was originally red. The interior white is a little off-white. The white paint I want to go with is a pearl off-white like is on the 90s Cadillacs - with the 240Z decal down the running boards. I finally found the white window cranks on Ebay not long ago.

Mystery Nissan Air Cleaner

Mystery Nissan Air Cleaner
I just purchased a parts car in San Diego and I got this Nissan air cleaner in one of the boxes of parts. Can anybody tell me what it goes to? Thank you in advance...

"Rust-Free" Arizona Zs
You are right. I live here in Glendale and I got my 2 Zs here and both were definitely project cars, but rust-wise they are in pretty good shape. Anything in the interiors had turned to dust however. I would rather re-do that than tackle the rust-monster any day!
