Four doors aren't cool.
Really? Well mine is almost as late as they come 11/1975 c110, and the weight is still quoted as 1170kg on the VIN plate...

Auto to Manual Conversion Guide
Really? I must have missed that...or my memory has since faded into oblivion. In any case are they round top hitachis, or flat tops? Just a pic of the engine bay is all i was after! In regards to the 5-speed trannies, im not sure if that (small) descrepancy between 3rd gear ratios would account for the chirp? The ZX box is an altogether different box, isnt it? Tom

Four doors aren't cool.
Ahh fantastic!!! :D THE toughest 4-door ive seen, 'specially with those 16" wats!! Interestingly, i know a few people who PREFER the look of the sedan, as it is a more balanced shape, at least in their eyes. Their argument stems from there being 'too much meat around the c-pillar of the coupe.' Personally, i reckon both shapes are well executed, the coupe a little more voluptuous...

Auto to Manual Conversion Guide
Youre finally there! Ive been reading every post with anticipation - and where have these twin SU's come from ? When did you get them put in - was this your mysterious 'side project'? Bet its an infinitely more enjoyable experience. And whats this about a chirp in third gear? Perhaps the ratios are slightly different in the five speed, because there is absolutely no way the tyres will chirp in third gear with my four speed. Anyway, sounds great, hope to see pics/video soon Tom

My misfortune...
Damn, how did i miss this! Its so, so unfortunate, perhaps some replacement panels will come up on ebay? Of all the bloody cars to hit - why not an excel, or lancer!!! How did it happen anyway? I hope it can be worked out, this car deserves to be on the road. Regards, Tom

240K GTR Flares
Yeah im not sure. At the moment money is pretty tight, so i wont be ambiguous, thatd be too easy. Argh, a 'no' it is...Thanks for asking anyway.

240K GTR Flares
I agree craig, i rekon it could be done...The wheel rear wheel arches are the same on the rear of the coupe and the rear of the sedan, the flares would just need to be cut and shaped to allow for rear door acess.

available suspension upgrades
Aha, great table, i was just about to post a question regarding those urethane bushes. Lachlan, is that the price for the pair of monroes or individually. A friend has offered me a pair of kyb's for the front, however theyre awfully soft...both of my standard fronts are shot to $^!#, having dribbled out the last of their oil over the past few weeks....i may not have a choice...Okay so im being vague, but, monroe or kyb as a cheaper shock?

my engine update
Great stuff kent, looks fantastic. Just out of curiosity, whats been done to the rb25, anything internal, or just intake/exhaust/turbo/ecu etc? The colour is definitely old school, perhaps a crackle finish would top it off? Tom

New - tiny video of my new exhuast!! har har har
Whats in austins 240z - l-series or something more modern? I cant quite tell - could be a very muted L...?

Power
Its been a long time coming (from me) but thanks Jim and Miles, some great info there. From what you have translated, Miles, my primary question was answered . It all makes sense, really, given that attempting to screw much more than 100-125bhp per litre from any NA engine is pretty difficult. Obviously the works race teams would have had a large budget at their disposal, but there is only so much you can do with two litres. With modern tuning techniques, as mentioned, more power would no doubt be possilbe, but it is interesting to see such a slim gap in raw outputs between the technically inferior l-series and the s20. I wonder if anyone has turbocharged/supercharged an s20...? Alan?

For All 240K GT & GL
Its great to see youve joined the forum Alzami, welcome. Is that your car in your avatar? If possible, could you post pictures of your car here on the forum, and perhaps tell us a little bit about it, and maybe yourself? Hope to hear from you Tom

L-series Engine
Many others more informed than me will tell you that they are nigh on impossible to find, and cost an absolute bucketload if you can...

New - tiny video of my new exhuast!! har har har
Great vid - that inspires me. Ive realised, however, that l-series motors often sound quite 'industrial,' - you'd have to say thats pretty close to a kenworth turbo diesel?

3 240K coupes as a lot on ebay
Jeezuz this is all over the place.. Firstly, Craig. I was planning on sourcing my Rewinds from ozzy tires in NSW or QLd i think. A friend of mine did this for his sprinter, and it turned out to be quite a deal...Im still looking into it. So bruce are you set on buying the three? I think theres a few of us here who would be interested in parts if you happen to be the new owner Tom

Power
Thanks KGC210, Lachlan. I was actually hoping alan had something to add here...I guess we'll have to wait and see. Hmmm, Jim, any comments? Tom

Power
Ive been wondering this for some time, but never got around to posting it. Ever since i learned of the S20 motors' existence, ive considered its power output. To me, the meagre 160hp that it put out was a little inadequate, considsering many performance motors of the s20 era produced double (and sometimes more) than what it could muster. Im vaguely aware of what it was up against in japan, but surely there were other jdm motors that outperformed it? Also, with just a few basic mods, a simlple l24 can be roused to produce the same power and more, for a fraction of the price. So my questions are these: Im aware that s20's can be tuned, but to what extent - they are a detuned race motor, so what were they producing in race trim - ie works 432r/kpgc10? Was the quoted 160hp output for all s20 powered cars a little 'conservative,' a la the ~274hp gentlemans agreement that stifled japanese performance cars throughout the last decade? And finally, did many s20 owners desire more power - were many s20's tuned? Do many tuned s20's still exist today? Hope to hear from everyone, regards, Tom

3 240K coupes as a lot on ebay
Agh, I wish they were available here, that initial bid looks great. Have you been checking the quokka lately Craig - anything noteworthy? Ive been low on cash for some time, so ive removed the temptation by not buying it. In regards to your projects, whats happening - done anything to either the 'k or the new z over the last few months? Ive added iridium plugs to '8484, been thinking about suspension+wheels/tyres. Interested in some superlites ? Tom

Ugly
  :stupid:  :tapemouth Seen a couple of those before, but still...argh! Its especially frustrating when i think about how hard ive tried to find a particular part for my car, when theres this sort of thing going on. The biggest anomaly, i believe, is the addition of full cages, oil coolers and what looks like well kitted out racing interiors - these items dont come cheap. Why would you splurge that sort of money on a car that can barely get down the driveway, let alone onto the street or the 'track.'??:stupid:

Ugly
Artistic flair??!?!?!?!?! OMFG these are perfectly good c110's getting absolutely destroyed! There arent many left, and to see them turned into these obscene, nightmarish expressions of 'style' makes me want to jump on a plane to JP and well....scream! I wonder what people would say if this was being done to perfectly good Z's? Please, leave this sort of thing for something like a nissan EXA...
