  4. my brother just graduated from PSU...good times :-) he used to be on their sailing team... anywho, hes got a volvo 1800E hehe IPD is located up there.. ok Z talk: get tokicko or whatever. they are the best struts for a Z ever. Get familiar with www.zcarparts.com they sell everything you want. MSA springs to drop the car, thick anti sway bars, strut tower bars, struts, poly. bushings, and boom. you have a car that can handle lots of roads in portland...and ive been on the curvy ones in the 1800E over there...they are pretty nice! enjoy!
  5. no no....not like one of those...but its hooked to the back your alternator..
  6. if your pic on the middle right is your dizzy, you shaft is one tooth off...which is something like 30 degrees
  7. http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ it may be worth your time to just double and triple check. set engine at TDC according to pulley and indicator. take valve cover off and check cam sprocket marks. then check shaft. line shaft up correct way, EVEN IF IT DOESNT WORK FOR YOU mount dizzy and start engine. rotate dizzy till engine actually works. if it rotates a lot, try flipping the plate on the bottom.
  8. let me find the webpage. its by stonehenge69 on zcar.com its the perfect page for timing issues.
  9. i talked about the bottom plate. it should only fit CORRECTLY one way. what about your cam timing? where are the notches on the cam gear and plate when the engines on TDC?
  10. thats all over the internet...and news. its pretty funny id have to admit
  11. bolted to the alternator, and connected to the + cable is a small resistor thing. im wondering. does this need to be on the car? i took mine off, cause i recrimped the wire, and my car has been EATING napa alternators...ive tried boshc and raylock. ive been told only get a Nissan Oem one. ive switched to an internal one, so im running a ZX. my light fuse (parking) also gets hellishly hot, and my volt meter drops a lot when lights turned on (grounds all OK) so im going to replace the fuse box, cause i think thats the problem. but i want to find out what this resistor thing is. anybody have an FSM or something?
  12. and seriously one last thing. if you dont line up the dots on the pump and shaft, the offset will be wrong, and your engine will fire 180 degrees out.
  13. one more thing. did you take your dizzy apart? did you take the plate off the bottom of the dizzy? that plate can only go on ONE WAY. if it goes on the other way, the whole unit has to be shifted a WHOLE LOT and its impossible to bolt down.
  14. heres the trick. get a friend to watch. tape a piece of string across both the bolt holes on the dizzy mount. slide the shaft unit into the oil pump. MAKE SURE TO LINE UP THE DOTS!!!! there are two small dots, one on the shaft, one on the pump. line them up. slide the damn thing in. when friend says that the shaft line is equal to the string, you are done! its really not that hard. make sure everything is at TDC, and that IS the correct way to do it. theres no other way. there are two pics above that are ONLY correct. the ones with the word :shaft tang and the picture right next to it on the right. those are the ONLY TWO CORRECT WAYS
  15. i think thats been posted before...but its still kinda funny.
