  1. <---big fan of the black BRE spook
  2. true aout the linkage. when you let off the gas does your pedal come back up?
  3. i've always just disassembled mine.
  4. yes shouldn't be a problem with 10W40 honestly, i've heard the best damper oil is 20W. IIRC i blended 10W30 with 30W. i've heard ATF works as well, but i've never used it.
  5. i use 10W30. just unscrew the top and pour. if you get too much, it will just leak out. won't cause harm
  6. the screws are the balancing screws. the damper spring is found when you take off the domes (cylinders?) of the carbs. i don't know ANYTHING about flattops
  7. BTW guys, found out that MSA is going to be open on sunday after the car show for a couple hours (3-5)
  8. have you checked the damper oil? sounds like the needle is sticking. i'd spray some carb cleaner in there. maybe some WD40 (maybe?). also, check and see if the needles are straight EDIT are you going to the MSA show? i'm sure there's tons of people that can help you...
  9. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G1200A&N=700+400304+115&autoview=sku it's not a sealed box, but in NHRA's rules it says that the box (like a firewall) can have holes. thanks!
  10. thanks a bunch! i've actually been able to find coverage for me on saturday, so i'll be picking it up myself. thanks for the offer, though!
  11. ...that would mind doing me a favor? i believe that they are closed on Sunday and I need to buy stuff... would someone be able to pick some stuff up for me on saturday (if i pay, of course) and bring it to the show on sunday?
  12. ya, i recall the good ol' turbo corvairs. but they used a standard doundraught carbie. lookin at maybe turboing DGVs or DCOEs?
  13. from what i've heard, SUs and turbo are not compatible, since the SUs require a certain amount of vacuum to work properly
  14. if i had to guess off the top of my head i'd say head gasket or cracked block/head
  15. on white, i prefer a black or gunmetal or even bronze rim with a polished lip. heck, i prefer that on ANY colour car! i have black meshies with a polished lip on my car. do you plan on keeping stock fenders, or are overfenders or flares in your car's future? i LOVE deep dish myself, whether it be rims or pizza
  16. more WAGs - any signs of AC being present previously? any signs of cruise control? my car had it.
  17. ^i was looking through that thread, but that was on the driver's side... since i see the battery tray i think it's the passenger side
  18. sounds like a bearing. my 5 speed (79) is doing the same thing. gonna try the synthetic, but if that doesn't do the trick, i'm going with a rebuild kit that includes all of the bearings and just replacing them all, like here: http://www.drivetrain.com/nissian4_5sprwd.html
