  2. Alot of trophy shops can replicate VIN, door and engine bay plates. We had all the plates remanufactured for the 77..............in Red and silver! Some good shops can exactly match the original stamping also. Call around in your area. FWIW Vicky

  11. From what I've heard it was only on the very early '77 280Z's. Mid year they returned to the flat even deck from the bulkhead to just under the tail light panel. Scott's 77 had that (he changed the deck and lowered it) and the Scarab, yes the Scarab has it also. It looks like this __/ . Sort of like if someone was going to mount speakers there. I don't know, I was just curious as to why the limited run. Another Datsun mystery. Thanks for the replys Vicky
  12. Does anyone know the reason Datsun raised the last 6 inches or so of the rear decks on the early 1977 280Z only? Do you suppose it was to keep things from sliding into the access panel for the tail lights? If so, why would they change design in mid year (77) back to the flat deck. My 1978 had the flat rear deck just like the 240Z. Vicky

  14. The guy that photographed that Z was also on the west coast of Florida to shoot Scott's car just last month. The Z's are suppose to be in an British Magazine called "Japanese Performance". I've tried to find the magazine here in my area at local bookstores but nobody carries it. Vicky

That's Fred Sangalangs car. You can hear it run on that MSA Sounds thread that a member loaded here. So Tom (240ZX) it's now in the "TADPOLE" stage, blunt and roundish in the front and slender towards the rear Fred is a great guy with some different ideas on modifications, leans to the extreme. He also owns that wicked 4 X 4 Z with the shiny V-8. Vicky
  16. Yes I know, I was just being a smart aZZ, hence the rolly laughing faces after my comment. My bad :cheeky: Vicky
  17. Before or after you refurbish your plate, put a layer of clear coat on it. It will protect it from fading. The plate on the 240Z was starting to fade from the Florida sun so the body guy shot it with clear coat and it looks brand new. The 280Z plate was clear coated from day one and has not faded at all. FWIW Vicky
  18. 30K for a Delorean?!?! I do believe you can pick one up for under 20K. Know a guy that shows one around here. Bought it off the original owner for 10K.......and it has no rust . Vicky
