What Do You Think My Z is Worth?
$7K sounds like a decent price. Minor rust, low milage (compared to other 39 year old cars) Needs pain, clean-up and the usual things to make her good again. But $7K sounds good.

HELP! Cars not charging after 3 alternators.
Ignore the black wire on the plug, it's just a ground for the original Voltage regulator. The black/white and white/black should have a Diode between them w/ the stripe of the diode on the White/black wire side. The Yellow and white wires should be connected together, with no diode. You said there's a wire missing?? There are only 5 wires in the 6-pin connector. Listed in the above paragraph. You need to go to radio Shack or ??? and buy a 1 amp diode and install it between the B/W and W/B wires so they are connected but the diode will stop the electron flow from going the wrong way (That's why the car still runs after key is off. The ZX adaptor plug would have done all this for you in a simple "Plug-N-Play connection" That's your problem, in a nut-shell Dave *P.S* Ignore the colored wires on the Pictures you posted. Those are Voltage Regulator wires that don't match up (in color) to the actual Datsun colors. Just follow my directions above and you'll be fine.

HELP! Cars not charging after 3 alternators.
So lets get this figured out........ Did you buy the adaptor plug (280ZX alternator adaptor plug) from Motorsport, and install it? If no, then there's your problem. If yes, are there any broken wires on the engine harness side of the Voltage regulator plug? Have you ran an 8 guage wire from the back of the alternator to the starter power bolt? When you do this, the ammeter gauge will barely move anymore do to the 8 gauge wire basically bypassing the meter. So if it helps, List step by step what yo've done and the result of that action. I keep being asked to show pictures of my LED converted tail lights, Front markers, LED sidemarkers, custome tail light panels and other similar items. So If you have had your Panel modified, Tail lights swapped for something else, or if I did your LED Conversion, PLEASE Post a good picture of your rear-end. (no pun intended)- No headlights! All other lights are working
For some dumb reason, I knew you'd say you had it but hadn't installed it. Now ya know why you need to instal it. Yes, clean the contacts in the switch and install the harness before using the headlights again. Plain and simple, Dave- No headlights! All other lights are working
I rebuilt your switches but did you ever instal one of my headlight harnesses? I always suggest it because there's still a chance of the switch getting burnt again due to high amps running through it. Use a test light and test the Red and white power wires on the combo switch. If there is no power at the White red, then you need to find out why. If power flows thru the switch to the red wire, then you should have power at the 2 right hand fuses when the switch is on. I'm gonna say you may of burnt the contacts again. So let me know if you have the Headlight Upgrade harness or not. Dave- I Need a Complete set of S.U.'s... Who needs some Upgrades?
Actually, He wanted a 240Z but this 280Z was only $1500 because of all the work I've done to it for the PO and all the work it still needs. Leaking window seals, intake and exhaust, clutch master and slave, minor other things, etc. But thanks. Whatcha askin? Dave- I Need a Complete set of S.U.'s... Who needs some Upgrades?
YOU GUYS ROCK!!! THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS CLUB. Ask and you shall recieve. what goes around comes around and treat Karma like your mother, you know why... I BIG BIG Thanks to Everyone who responded, wrote PM's and Emails to me about what they had and how they wanted to help. Especially to Mike B and Esmit208. Their willingness to jump in and volunteer parts and to do so in trade is what makes this site, it's member and the Datsun Community, the best in the world. Thanks again to all. Dave and Family.- I Need a Complete set of S.U.'s... Who needs some Upgrades?
Thank you Ed and Brian. Brian, I'll keep it in mind but I think I'm gonna go with Esmit208's set, as it's a running set. Bruce, that's a big 10-4, and a small "Duh" I don't really want him to run without a heatsheild. I think I have an air filter setup. And on another note, now that the SU's seem to be taken care of....... Does anyone have a 6-into-1 header, or 3-into-2 with 2 to 1 sleeve??? The car has a stock manifold with a crack and leaks like crazy. The PO installed an MSA exhaust pipe kit but attached it to a bad stock manifold. Please let me know. As you've ALL likely done in the past, I'm trying to help my brother do it right, the first time, the way it should be done with the help of good people like yourselves. I have NO problem paying for good used parts when needed but also like to do trade work when ever possible. So if anyone has a header for a 76' 280Z that they are willing to part with for a fair price, some upgrades or ?? Please let me know, Again, Thank you to everyone so far. Dave- I Need a Complete set of S.U.'s... Who needs some Upgrades?
My brother finally broke down and bought a 280Z. It has a real messed up FI system. we want to throw it out and replace it with SU's. We're both on a tight budget so I thought I'd throw out the question....... Who has a complete set of SU's with intakes, ballance tube and carbs? Who are willing to trade for 1) headlight upgrade harness, 1) Parking light upgrade harness and a set of Sidemarker conversion Plugs for their 240Z??? All three items retail at MSA for over $250 + S/H So all 3 items and I cover the shipping for your SU's set-up shipped to me, cheapest way you want to ship it to me. PM me or email e at wolfin32z@yahoo.com if you're interested. I'm not limited to just those 3 upgrades. I can mix and match or do other things, within a reasonable Price. Dave- HID Headlight Conversion
Thanks guys. As always, it's appreciated. Richard, Don't forget that I do the complete LED Conversion for the Tail lights, front marker/turn signals and I do a sidemarker LED insert kit. PM, me if you're interested. I just ordered a butt-load of LED's so now's the time to consider it. Arne and others are correct, I love my HID's but in the wrong housings, they are unsafe for other drivers. Great for you on a dark road with no oncoming traffic, but not for that traffic. Dave- no cluster lights or side makers and back lights!
In a PM, Dee mentioned that the switch is now "Hard to even turn" which tells me the contact plate has slipped or the slide bullet has finally broke away or slipped due to overheating. There are 4 little tongs that guide the bullet as it slides on the contact, if one breaks (only about 1mm x 2mm tall) then the bullet will fall out of it's holder and no longer work. And if the wiring is bad on the switch side, I'll definately replace them on a wire by wire basis. But you're right, I would check the wiring on the other side of the connectors (dash harness) as well. Dave- no cluster lights or side makers and back lights!
I can rebuild your switch. OR I can sell you a rebuilt one. I'll need to know exactly what your switch looks like. I have a few 100 switches from 69' to 78', so I'll need some pictures to know which one to pull from the shelves. I'm more familiar with the earlier year switches, so help me help yuou and I can get on it for ya. PM me for prices and with your pics and info. Dave- [2011] What did you do to/with your S30 today?

Knock it off Lee. You're seriously making me hate my decision to sell the green bean, that I sold last year. That green started to grow on me and now I miss it a bunch. Looks SWEET brother. Dave- Rear control arm bolt size
I think I have a few of the Large LCA bolts if you need some. Hit me up, Dave- Insulating the cabin
I think I ordered 100 sq. ft and have only used about 2/3's of it. Still gotta do the inside doors and the inner rear quarters. the kit came with.... 100 Sq Ft Fatmat Sound Deadener Hard Wood Roller Cutting Knife Fatmat Decal Installation Instructions kit includes the following 2 Roll of 33.5' L X 18" W here's a link...... Dave- Insulating the cabin
Covered ever square inch from firewall to tail light panel. Project is in LIMBO at the moment but will finish the inner rear quarters and other things later on.- I am so happy
They were a serious Challenge. Between the primer and overspray, the lenses had serious pitting and scratches. I wet sanded the hell out of them but coud only do so much for the reflectors, as they sit down in a hole. I used my glass bead blaster to lift most of the paint off the back assemblies. I was going to but forgot to run a thread chaser thru your nuts. (That just sounds wrong) but you may wanna do that before re-installing. If anyone else would like this done. give me a few weeks heads up as I am low on LED's. Glad you're happy with them Henry. They were definately a challenge.
