How is The Project going?
Well paint is finnished!!! Still gotta find a LHS doorjamb as mine rusted out. Then gotta get that welded in. All lights/bumpers and trims are back on. Sanding this w/e(fine wet/fry). Then glass put back in early next week. Should be back on the roads very soon!!!

Weatherstrip profiles wanted!
Hi all, Just after the profiles(pics) of the door and rear hatch weatherstriping 'pinchweld'. Its for a 2+2 if there is any difference. Just about to finnish my project and my boss has a deal with a rubber company through his Mini business so i can get it cheap! also lengths would be great! tryed a search but nothing! Thanks!

Reintroduction: My 260Z 2+2 +pics
Ive painted a fair bit more now. Just need to repair(replace) the passenger B pillar and then ill paint that rear 1/4 panel. Ill reassemble most of it next weekend and give it all another few coats. Cant wait to drive it again!

16" Watanabe's on 240K
Commodores (VN onwards i think) have like a seperate drum brake inside the disk hub part that is used soley for the handbrake, none of this stupid caliper business! EA or so Falcons and early 90s Hondas handbrake's were activated via the caliper.

Reintroduction: My 260Z 2+2 +pics
Well ive started painting her! Just did 2 panels (only 2 ready at that stage). Came up really well, im pleased with myself! Next weekend I might paint the roof, rear 1/4, front spoiler, bonnet and some other bits and peices i have ready. heres a pic anyways 904 'moonstone' white.

Thats a very nice engine bay you have there! I wish my 1000 ute's(US didnt get them) were that clean! It has a A12 in it with just a cam, A14 head, extracters and a K&N filter. I might do that fuel rail mod when/if i go twin carb (DCOE/SU). GX heads arnt too rare down here in AUS or even more common in Japan. I have a question for you though. What does the fitting that goes onto your thermostat housing ment to goto? Mine had that housing but i blocked off the hole in the head and used the smaller thermo housing. Goto datsun1200.com if you havnt already, a wealth of B10, B110, B210 knowledge!

Original stripe size
I was wondering what size are the dealer(?) fitted stripes down the side of the 240Z's are? what the spaces between the stripes are, how big the large and small stripes are and how big are the letters/numbers? I am going to replicate something like it for my 2+2 in black, just for some contrast! But im going to put '260z' between the door and rear wheel arch. Cheers!

Reintroduction: My 260Z 2+2 +pics
Hi all, havnt posted here for a good long time. I thought I would just update you all on my project '75 260Z 2+2. Bodywork is just about all done, just another rub back and then i'll start painting. 904 'Moonstone' White. Quick B/G: I bought the car for AUD$88 last year regoed and running(poorly). Since then i gave it a tune up and balanced the carbs. And have slowly been stripping it back to bare metal for a respray. The paint was cracked right back to the metal so it was the only way. It was also full of rust! I have cut some out and killed the rest. It owes me maybe AUD$1200 now, and thats after a front air dam, new shockies, another door, paint etc. It was by no means a 'proper' resto, it is too far gone for that. I just want the joy of driviing a Z without the police attenion of having one with very poor paint and bog popping out everywhere! Ive done everything myself in my spare time(im an apprentice mechanic) and i will be painting it too. Color Choice
Ive only just decide on the colour for my '75 2+2. It was light blue metalic from factory, but im going Daytona Blue off the 350Z! Its a beautiful colour and it wont look too bad when the bonnet is up to show the old colour. I was going to paint it adifferent colour completely but thought blue would be best! Blue and chrome... mmmm... But thats just me, go for whatever you want!

After a 1pc front spoiler in AUS
Does anybody have a full 1 peaice front spoiler to suit a '75 260Z 2+2? Must be in AUS, WA pref. I have been quoted $340 for a new one. PM me or reply to the thread with what you have for sale, or if you know where I could get one cheaper then $340. Im after the full, flowing spoiler, not a lip or "spook". Thanks Chris

What is your favorite front spoiler/air dam?
In the search for mine i have found; Shop1-$340 for a very dodgy pic of one. Have requested more pics. Looks the same a s Stevens. Canberra Car Styling-$180+$45 post for a very tacky looking one. No go with this one. And its the only one they do. And Z spares has nothig, only some small lips and a race one which isnt what im after! Any more places in AUS i should try?

Dizzy and door handle questions
Hi all; 1)Are there 1 or 2 springs on the advance weights on the dizzy off a '75 260z? Mine only has one. 2)I recently broke my drivers door handle :stupid: I have been told that they could be the same as a Datsun 120Ys( http://www.tidalportal.com/SEADAT/images/usergallery/125.jpg for the americans, because i think you have a diff name for it). Are they? Or does anybody in AUS want to donate one :nervous: Also does anybody have a pic/description on how to remove one form the inside on a 2+2? Thanks in advance!!!

Steven/Cuong, Where in Aus did you get it and how much did it set you back. Im after one for my 2+2! I recon that Steven/Cuong's is the best... althought that blue autocross Z looks awesome :devious:

Tranny swap
Apparently a Nissan Silvia(S13 i think) 5spd fits in without too much hassel. There is a Yellow 240Z in QLD, Aust with one in and in the magazine article it said the lever fitted through the original hole! But going for a box from a different car means the plugs arnt going to be the same and the other connections are going to be in different spots, that means fabrication which means $$$ You poor americans, geting givin a 4spd... Us aussies only got 5spds(or autos)!!!

Half Brakes or No Brakes
If they are the drums that came from the factory 30 odd ears ago, the chances are that they are rooted, also are your brake shues new or used? It sounds as though they are not ajusted properly. with the drum on you should be able to turn the drum but feel a bit of resistance. If they are ajusted correctly, it could be the drum/shue size is above min/max size. Chris

Tacho not working on '75 260Z
Well along with many other little quirks my new Z has, the Tacho doesnt work... not that I really need it because its Auto but I would rather it work. So basically it doesnt work... BUT sometimes when I turn the ignition on or turn the R indicator on, it flinches. The needle will move a tiny bit or go right the way around and back really quickly. I have the wireing diagram from a official Nissan service book(came with the car). I pulled it out(tacho), had a look and a wiggle of all the wires but no good. Neer the coil though, there is a dark blue wire that looks to have broken off something. its hanging loose and has a black rubber connecter or something on it! It goes into the main loom. Thanks for the help :laugh:

How Close Are Our VIN #'s
Mite as well put mine on. Its a pretty low number compared to most of yours! But its a 260z 2+2 so it is in a bit of a different feild :nervous: 6/75 GRS30-005545. It would have been in the 'deceiced' file if anyone else bought it though Restoration is coming along fine!

Thanks for the comments! The cancer isnt TOO bad, nothing really structural. The underneith is all good except for where the rear wheel arch meats the floor, that corner on both sides inside the cabin is pretty bad. I had a good poke with a screw driver and the only major work is under the doors and the area stated above. Geez I cant beleive that your all after my bloody mirror! Well i took some pics, It must be broken because there is a rag or something in ball joint. So how much are you willing to pay for it? Because I have some new chrome mirrors from an old car at home... This one is a bit damaged and after taking the rag out the joint is pretty shot :disappoin Ill get some good pics up Sat arvo when its light(i get home when its dark atm).

im back! but now i have a Z!
Well some of you might remember me from a while back, but for you who dont; Im Chris, I live in Perth, Australia and now own a very rusty but running and licenced '75 260Z 2+2!!! Im now a 1st year motor mechanic and 17yrs. Well heres my Z's story. I bought it of the original owners son. It was for sale for $600 so i called the guy ASAP. I was only the 2nd caller! So I went and had a look at it. Its very rusty and the paintwork is SHOCKING! He told me his story about how it was his mothers etc etc and said that if he gave it to the wreckers they would give him $88. So he offered it to me for $88 because it would get a good home, so i snapped it up! Its done apparently 297,000kms and is auto but runs fine. Just the body has alot of cancer! So im going to cure(i know, very optimistic word) the cancer and respray it and go from there. A few questions though... Did Aussie S30's come with air-con and/or power steering because i dont and want em! So if you have some old units(in Perth), PM me! How easy is a manual transfur and how expencive?(i can do all the labour). Anybody have a manual sitting around in Perth? PICS!- better ones on SUN-

Might be in the market for a ZED
Hey guys... remember me from a while back? well i might be in the market for a zed... This is what im after... A 240z any year, good straight body, running, any colour(pref red) and in West Aussie. It'll be my first car and ive always wanted one. price range? $3000 max(if i can get some money off dad) What my dream of it will be is to do up the paint and chrome, put a nice set of 17" chrome lipped mags on it, lower it a little, triple carbs(whatever brand i can get my hands on), mild cam, extracters and an exhaust setup(no fart can) :nervous: I might be gettin an apprenticeship soon so eventually i'll beable to make my dream come true. Thanks guys.
