  3. As promised! Fergies shop The process The result Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  4. I haven't been able to load the pictures onto my computer yet as I am still in the Okanagan. I can tell you that he was able to punch 4 louvers in each side. I had hoped for more but the metal underneath the inspection door is doubled at one point and doesn't allow for louvering. Looks good still! Pics to come by Friday... Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  5. Going to visit Fergies Custom Louvers today! See if I can get some pics of the louvering process for you nerds. Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  6. Zedd Findings is a reputable company with great parts... it's worth the hassle of communications! He is a retired Z lover doing this as a favour for the community more than the money. My two cents!
  7. Apparently the donor panel was a smurf! Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  8. Another good example of how a sand blasting cabinet and fine abrasive glass can clean and restore parts! Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  9. Unfortunately it is thick in places. Lots of paint jobs over the years. I'm hoping the base metal is straight and will leave me a clean canvas to start all over again. Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  10. I haven't seen the extent of the repairs but there does appear to be a lot of bondo on the panels. I am hoping the future bodywork I have to do will be minimal. I will repair any bad welds and sheet metal work as I go....
  11. No surprise here really.... Quarter panels have been replaced in my cars past... Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  12. New period correct zinc chromate metric Phillips screws... just for you Captain! Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  13. I suppose you're right! But it is the same thing for finding SAE bolts and nuts on the car; it drives me crazy! I really hate philips head screws in hi torque uses tho. Invariably they will strip.... and if a show judge ever sees my car, the last thing that will get noticed that is not period correct will be the horn screws
  14. Once again, thanks Chas! I will see what I can find. I'm sure I have some gasket paper around somewhere. Also need to replace half the screws. Mine were extremely tight and the Phillips head couldn't take the torque. I would rather replace them with Allen head screws or Torx but don't want it to be obvious....Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  15. sorry! That pic is from Hazmatt's Rustoration thread. It was showing the front crossmember horn locations only. Mine is still in a more, ahem, "rugged" condition as of yet....! Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  16. You are exactly correct. I have a question Chas: do the horns have a paper gasket between both sides of the thin steel vibration plate? Mine were completely gone when I disassembled... just a corroded mess. And can I just make new ones or do I have to replace them with a factory gasket? Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  17. Sub'd for a solution.... I will need these eventually too!
  18. Mine is an early model, 9/75 so I think it matches the position from Hazmatt's thread, along the crossmember. Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  19. Just realized how messed up my front crossmember/lower rad support really is.... The nose support is completely gone and the horn mounts non-existent. I am thinking I should find a donor crossmember to replace mine as mine is already bent up. The only real dented piece on the car.... I knew something was up based on the horn positions in this pic!
  20. Smart move... Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  21. A little work on the horns today for a change of pace... Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  22. Would love to see a thread around this install....
  23. The cost is negligible for punching them in really... $1.50 a louver! It boils down to location and time. If he can do it while I'm down on vacation in couple weeks, I'll punch them in instead! I'm not afraid of welding them in, but punching would be much better.
  24. I'm heading to the Okanagan in a couple weeks too! Sent from my iPizzle ringy dingy device....
  25. Would love to find a local shop with that ability.... in the meantime.... welding it is!
