  1. Just some references for the tools , they are excerpted from Fairlady Z owners manual Nov 69 May 72 late 71 ( written in English, probably for military officers stationed in Japanese base , etc) . Please enjoy some unusual things for the tool stowage area. And we can see the lady ‘s grip looked natural for the perpendicular tooth wrench in the Nov 69 version, on the other hand, the lady’s grip looked good for the parallel wrench in the May 72 version. And I think it is interesting the spark plug wrench which was standard for Z432 is seen in the Fairlady Z owners manual English version , no other manual showing it . Kats
  2. It is interesting! Each “ NISSAN “ has different font . Kats
  3. Hi Chris, super cool wrench! What does “31” mean? I saw a alphabet letter D on a Nov 1971 240Z . And I believe you said there is a difference between early and late on the jack handle , didn’t you ? Kats
  4. I am glad that your car is corresponding to your tools ! I miss American beers so much . And the video , I really love it! Kats
  5. Cliff , my June 1972 car is a Fairlady 240ZG , so it has different chassis number , HS30-11861 , L24-114120. Your 72 240Z reminds me my ex 240Z when I was temporarily staying at Bakers Field CA . Kats
  6. Thanks! What I am amazed about is your tool still has a paper , and it is written in Japanese ! The date stamp on the paper is corresponding to your car I think, 25? Feb 1972 . And just for your information, description from the top , they are , 車両昇降用 (for lifting a car up and down ) ホイルナット締付用 ( for tightening a wheel nut ) タイヤ止め ( tire stopper ) 上記工具収納用 ( for stowing the tools listed above) Kats
  7. Hi Keith , sorry for my poor English skill , I want to say my 01/70 is like the bottom, 06/72 is the top . I like these topic !
  8. This is interesting, my 01/70 has parallel, 06/72 has perpendicular. Both have letter “ NISSAN “ in the Nissan hamburger mark . Kats

I think so too Ian , Silvia is very rare to see , rarer than Z432 maybe ! Kats

Hi , I amend the month / year of changes for the blow-by system . That was Oct 1970 .At that time for the Fairlady Z series , the automatic transmission began to be selected and “ regular gasoline “ version which was lowered compression ratio , lowered ignition timing was able to be selected for both L20 and S20. Just a few references for understanding of the air box .Please enjoy the pictures. Z432 and GTR , both S20 had same design change for the emission (pollution? ) from OCT 1970. Before that , blow-by air was released to atmospheric air pressure from the top of the valve cover , and the right side of the engine block . After OCT 1970 There are tubes which are connected from the air box to the valve cover , and the engine block oil separator. You can see the oil pan and assorted parts difference on both S20 engine. That is also true for the battery tray and cover , I have seen so many Zs have lost their covers and trays . I can say 99 % of cars which I saw in person or in magazines lost them . Nowadays cloth braided hoses , wire hose clamps , rubber pieces those are available on line , but the battery hardware is very rare to see especially for Fairlady Z cars. Kats
  13. Nice collection Gavin , hope you will get other Works wheels soon . Do you know another reproduction wheels are recently available in Japan ? It’s design came from a well known Works wheel , just make it narrower and smaller . https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j1030354322 Watanabe has intermittently been reproducing this Works design in 15 inch , with much wider rim both magnesium and aluminum. But this time who is making it? 14 inch with 7J is just right for my taste . Kats

Hi Ian , I am glad that you are interested in Z432 , how is your Silvia doing ? I saw a complete restored Silvia at Tokyo auto salon, that was so nice , I was thinking about you. Alan , your Webber set up is so good ! I have heard at that time Nissan couldn’t afford to install Webber , while Mikuni provided a cheaper carburetor , so they took it. Toyota used it too , maybe the same reason? Anyway thanks Mikuni ! Z432 air box set up is superior to the GTR in terms of fresh air , thanks to the long nose , there is a room to position the air cleaner outside of the engine room. GTR air box is always on sale at Japanese auction , but I have never seen Z432 air box on sale almost 10 years. Z432 were sold 400 and some more , while GTR(S20 engined) were sold 2000 and more , this is the reason why Z432 S20 parts are much difficult to obtain. Kats
  15. Thanks Chris !! Kats
  16. Hi , this is an old thread but I really like it, today I would like to add one solid metal “Fairlady Z “ quarter emblem for left wing . It was suddenly appeared on Yahoo Japan Auction last week , I am so glad that I won . Finally I have got a set of solid metal quarter emblem for my Z432 ( 01/1970) , this set surely deserves for my Z432 . Interesting thing is , all of my solid metal emblems came to me from each different cars . A set of quarter solid metal emblems for Datsun 240Z , and that set of for Fairlady Z , there might be 4 early cars which provided them for me . When I have got the first one , it was more than 10 years ago and now , my collections are complete. Like Chris said , I am thinking the same for the early 240Z would have the chrome Z metal emblem up to some 1000 to 2000 cars . ( solid one would be first 500 or less or more ?? ) This time I will see the good example, as I have bought HLS30-02146 which has white Z metal (of course hollowed) emblems . If this is true for the car , we will be getting much closer to the fact . Kats
  17. Hi Gavin , yes ! Are you thinking of your genuine works wheels are on a shelf as spares for the car show ? Kats FullSizeRender.mov
  18. A Safari Gold Z432 with my Fairlady 240ZG . This Z432 belongs to Mr. Uekubo , he did restoration work by his own hands , metal work , paint work , and mechanical components refurbish work , interior trimming work , and S20 rebuilding. It took him almost 20 years to complete when he finally took the car on the road in 2021 . He was cleaver to do it, he had been collecting parts from local Nissan since late 1990’s . So most of parts which were applied in this car are NOS parts from Nissan , just amazing. Funny thing is, he found this Z432 in a vegetable field covered by lots of dart and soil .If he didn’t decide to take it, this Z432 would have been returned to the earth. He chose a set of replica “ Nissan works rally wheel “ . Looks great in his car . Kats FullSizeRender.mov
  19. And this , 1969 motor show ? I bet those people put their name on the list immediately . Kats
  20. Hi Gavin ,more than 50 years later , still Z cars are shipped to overseas customers like this picture. It is just wonderful. I really love this blue 903 , so I am thinking painting my #2156 to this 903 finally. Next week , #2146 will be arriving at my home , it is going to be the best guidance for making color paint of 903 . Kats
  21. Hi, I also like the front end of the orange . Not only the front end , it is also lowered 20mm , served with bigger wheels and over fenders . This orange car won “ best concept car “ award of the show . This prize surely pushes Nissan to make this body kit for customers in next year . Kats
  22. Hi , I was thinking same thing, I don’t know it is cool or not , but anyway it is very unique. Kats
  23. Bingo ! There are also Hakosuka , Ken meri , etc ..And it is so tasty . This rice cracker is a popular Japanese snack “ Kaki no Tane “ ( persimmon seeds) . It is soy sauce flavored and it is a perfect combination with peanuts . Kats
  24. Hi Gavin, yes I know your 904 white/ blue interior, Automatic transmission car and I have just looked at its pictures yesterday. I wish my new blue car was mint like yours , I need to do lots of work , first of all , it needs to be a running condition. It lost a transmission! What happened? I have got some interesting story about my new blue car , I will tell you about it later in this thread. 920 gold will be nice for the new Z , I am feeling the new Z will look great in classic colors , hope Nissan will take my opinion! Kats
  25. Alan , me too disappointing. Nissan , please don’t say “ this Customized proto is going to be limited edition “ . Originally, Z is for everyone, it shouldn’t be changed. The yellow “ Proto spec “ is limited edition which is only 240 cars in Japan . I think that is OK because people can get same body style , same body color , same engine in a standard version as the “Proto spec “ . An interview at the show , Tamura san said “ we will not sell this Customized Proto if we can’t see strong demand. We need positive reaction to make this happen “ I think Tamura san was very sure people’s reaction before the show . And yes I have heard so many voices at the show “ I want the orange ! “ Kats
