Wow that fresh paint looks fantastic! I like matching the spoiler to the car. That 2x4 holding up the bonnet scares me. Tie it up to a rafter overhead. That's how I remove mine and reinstall by myself.

I'm about to, this fall, do a n42 combo with flat tops and going from efi to SUs on my 280. See how that works out. Might do a cam swap while I'm at it. I'll have to get a job with Clinton and Kaine to afford it.

Metric the same length. Slight filing of the peg, repainted the exposed steel and everything is groovy on mine. I recommend Beck Arnley if you don't want to spend $150 at Nissan.

If you want a good running motor, read up on Dizeased man at Datsun Spirit Eliji I believe. He has a solid build obviously, ie those five 240s. Rebello is a name brand now, I've read a few unsatisfied reviews on his shop. @Kurbycar32 was one. I'd like to know how his money spent is working now.

240s don't have those tacked on nuts. That's how I immediately knew something was off about the cheap mounts. Do 280s have those? I don't think mine did and am too lazy to walk down and look. It's hotter than two foot up a goats arse!

I used Beck Arnleys on mine and had to file a small amount off the top of the peg, not too much though. They were about $18 each compared to $70 for Nissan's. Those Anchor and DEA are $4. Beck Arnley were made much better, the rubber was tight fitting. One size fits all is the problem, same with timing kits now.

I'll go out on a limb here and say they are the original motors from his collection and a spare.

The antenna switch goes in the space above the word TUNE. Those arrows are for the antenna UP and DOWN. This is my faceplate off my 01/'72 I think zcardepot.com has the best deal on an electric antenna, FWIW.

This is the closest I could find to what I read in the past. When I first bought my '77 the doors would lock but I would have to crawl through the hatch to unlike them, still do, I've yet to fix it. The article I read was on classiczcars.com but I can't find it now. It was talking about the rod connecting through the plastic retainers, the plastic would wear out and they fixed theirs by bending the rod. I used a tire changing tool for dirt bikes, we always called them spoons, flat steel with the ends angled up for prying under the beads. Put one across the locking ring and turned it until it hit the notches pass the ramps.

Is your's completely missing? Mine was busted so until I get a new mirror cut I've stuck the biggest circular one in there. It works pretty good too. They sale them as a farther distance view mirror, like for people pulling campers or boats. Cost less than $5 at walmart and just sticks on.

I've read where people have to re-bend the rod to tighten all that back to the original feel.

Are going with the cable throttle pull later on?

When I rebuilt my FI 280 I went #3 from advice from a mechanic, I wish I'd put it #2 though. On my 2.4 rebuild I recently finished I went with #2. Tom Monroe's book says use #2 if you run a ground cam. Glad to here your confirmation. Thanks! Oh yeah, we have the same head and grind I believe. I haven't put mine together yet and am running the freshend up e88 until I can rebuild the e31.

That's what someone said on here, the gear goes with the differential, 16 tooth with the 180 and 18 for the 200. So now it does and it seems to be right, compared to the other cars on the interstate. Thanks. Just realized the irony of your signature after your accident with the Expedition.

Nothing better than a Grandoggie! My parents like them better than the talking kind. They won't admit that but they sure do like babysitting mine better than my sister's doodoo diaper wearers. The Z barn is stunning!

It has to removed to install a rear spoiler. Put a layer of polyethylene on first then put the vinyl cover over that. Mine has screws and push type plastic retainers.
