35 mm film developing find
I weighed it all, 105 pounds. Then added 10 pounds for the boxes and packing filler, probably a little too high though. Anyway fedex and ups are about the same, fedex slightly cheaper but about $1.00 per pound using a 30"x30"x12" box. I just plugged that in to get the quote, if you think it would be cheaper sending separate boxes I'll let you figure the price. It's 479% humidity downstairs and I couldn't stand anymore. I'd guess 110 pounds thinking about it now. Look at the pictures and see if you want it all or just the enlargers and the lens and those stainless containers with racks inside them. There's some kind of black bracket that weighs a pretty good bit but I have know idea what it is so look, pick and choose then let me know. I'll have to find some boxes over the holiday. Long story short, all this is going to cost you about $115, maybe more or maybe less?

just an FYI. In Alabama you just show up and pay, they can write a bill of sale on a napkin if it's a '75 or older. No titles for cars 1975 and older. You can go to North Carolina's DMV website and see what their laws are. There sounds like a problem going from MA to NC apparently or he would have already registered it? Talk to the owner and find out why. Also in Alabama your insurance on your other cars will carry over to the new purchase for 10 days. I would think the bill of sale would also be good for ten days until you get it back home to register it there, no need to keep registering it.

Original Z was never supposed to happen
I thought the same. They recognize Bradley the photographer but not Eiji?

The one all over your FB page. I apologize if I'm wrong but you're being somewhat cryptic in the last few post? I'm just pulling out my Colombo cigar and chewing around for fun.

None of the carpets in my '72 are held down by anything, easily removable. Have them look under the seat mounts, that's where mine is the worse. Also the sill where the hatch latch is, far left and far right. There is a vin number engraved on the firewall under the driver's side windshield above the brake booster. It should be the same as the vin tag by the driver's defrost vent. Good luck, we all like a satisfied buyer even though it's an RB swapped motor. 8^( Different strokes for different folks.

Try using the forums " Member Map" up top below the address bar. You could probably find someone close to a car you're wanting and like Zed Head says pay them some money and have them check it out.

You are right, I miss a lot of that kind of stuff. Personally I would never buy a car "siteunseen". Airplane ticket at least for a $15,000 purchase.

Getting my 73 240z to start
Also look around the water pump, behind the fan. Those gaskets are tricky to get in place and the bolts are all different lengths. Could be a loose bolt around the pump or that gasket? Glad you got to drive it. That always helps my procrastinating.

35 mm film developing find
I'll get it all together Saturday. Those large trays and a couple of other things I will take pictures of and send them to you to see if you want them too. I would think shipping charges would be close to their cost? I'll let you make that decision though. Back with you tomorrow with photos.

The other buyer that wasted his time may have found something that wasn't disclosed? I'm being critical with my comment but I feel like you should really go over the car, drive it long enough to see if it over heats or loses oil pressure. I don't know anything about those motors but the way he's messing with you I'd be extra careful. My .02$ worth.

You pay shipping and it's yours. Maybe someday I may need something from your Z stash? Give me this weekend to figure the best way to box it up securely, I'll weigh it and get your zip code then a shipping quote and send a PM with the info. Thank you! Cliff

Run a fuel line from the bottom of the fuel filter into a 2.5 gallon fuel jug. Bypass the dirty fuel tank. If it runs bungee cord the jug tight and try driving around the neighborhood. If it stays running you'll need to clean the fuel tank. That's what I did and it runs fine now. We're here if that doesn't work. 8^)

Another nice 240Z article
I consider it free advertising. I've got mine and am not a flipper so the more hype the better in my opinion.

Seafoam spray through carbs ?
I use this stuff on my hand held Stihl 4-Mix equipment to clean the valves. Run them until hot, pull the plug out and shoot in the hole. Pull the rope a few times to get it in there and let it sit overnight. Pull the rope a few more times, put the plug back in and let it rip. Been doing this for six years and never had to adjust the valves. The trick is shoot it straight into the plug's hole, not the carburetor and it bypasses all the intake stuff then when you pull the rope it gets into the valves. A lot of guys do this although it may be witchcraft thinking but it seems to help so I continue to do so, stay positive. Edit. Not six years, since buying them in '06.

Hamburgers & Cheeseburgers
I've just about done all I can to the 240 without spending big bucks that I don't have at the moment. The suspension needs replacing then rear disc but it drives and runs fine for me. sorta like heated seats, I can wear thermals if I want to drive when it's that cold. The 280 was my first auto engine rebuild and it runs great but I've learned a lot about "the details" since I built it. So I'm going to dress up the engine a little better before I get the car painted. I bought all new clothes for it but didn't get them tailored.

Hamburgers & Cheeseburgers
Got my '77 out from a year long selfish hibernation. I love my 240 but I'm gonna have to cheat on the old car and get back in the 280. Rebuilt it then bought my first 240 and put the 280 on "the shelf" but after driving it an hour or so today it's back in play. I love those cars, different feel but a good comfortable one. Better brakes too. I have some ZX flat tops I'm thinking I'll put in under the N42 head. Should wake it up a little plus I'll definately get the 225mm flywheel lightened or maybe find an aluminum one. I think, my opinion!, that's the best bang for the buck. Having been raised up on quick revving motorcycles the aluminum I put in the 2.4 is like a motorcycle with a bit more protection. I'm looking forward to my new project! And of course I'll be posting plenty as I go.

That's funny Zed Head. I don't think they would work on my Maserati if I had one. Wait, is this "California Maserati"?

Seafoam spray through carbs ?
That's where I get the air filter remark. Every single time my commercial mower starts running bad it's ALWAYS the air filter, cleaning them a few times is okay but I buy a new one every spring. Another thing is the summer gas blend the do in California. Could that have an effect on you Z?

When is the last time you replaced the air filter? I've got the Nissan P/N if you want to try one, they're much better quality than chain parts stores.
