I spy a z!
Saw a blue 240 n/b U.S. 101 n/of Willits driven by a lil 'ol lady putting the hammer down last sunday. Michael, good to see you got the 620 sorted out.

Air flow from the blower motor
Have you thought about the Honda blower motor upgrade? It moves LOTS more air than the stock blower motor.

Best place to sell a 620 pickup
That's pretty much what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if there was someplace else I might be missing. Thanks!

Best place to sell a 620 pickup
I came into possession of a good running rust free '74 620 pickup that is all original except for a respray 10 footer paint job. It's not really my thing, so I'd like to see it go to somebody who is into them. Other than the obvious ebay, C.L., or the classifieds here, do you guys have any suggestions where to list it?

Nice day for a ride
I took the barn find out for about a 100 mile rip through the foothill twistys today. First time I've taken it more than just around town since putting on the new head. It runs and handles awesome. Love this car! Thought I'd share a few pics.

Should I try to start it or just rebuild?
I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but did you check the spark plugs and wires when ? I would think it would be very possible that the battery flying forward would hit/break/crack at least one spark plug on the way to the oil filter. Or at least pull a wire or two loose. I would doubt you did any major damage to the internals driving as far as you did. That being said, I'm with everyone else on getting what you have going and see where you are from there. Sounds like you're on your way.

Z's at the Barrett Jackson auction.....OPINIONS
Not wanting to offend anyone here, especially if they own it, but that alleged 31k mile '73 engine looks pretty ratty IMHO. I'm just glad to see that our cars are bringing "decent" money at a forum like BJ especially with no detail work involved. The '75 280 looks nicely done. I've seen nicer cars here that haven't sold for that much.....

Differences between an E31 and E88 on a L24
So, after searching, if I'm correct, the early E88 head has the same size exhaust valve as the E31? If the E88 I have has the larger exhaust valve, I guess I'll need to notch the cylinder?

What to buy? 1972 240Z vs 1977 280Z
Without seeing the '77 I'm in agreement with Chase^^^a no rust 240 is a great find

Differences between an E31 and E88 on a L24
Thanks Steve. I believe the head came off a '73. Does that sound right? The price on repairs for the E31 is going to be way north of $700

What to buy? 1972 240Z vs 1977 280Z
Jim, First of all, Welcome! There are lots of very intelligent Z folks on here that are very helpful. Having had a '77 5 speed and now a '71 that sat since the middle 80's, I think the biggest thing you have to decide would be a running driving car vs. something that will need to be fully gone through. The F.I. vs. SU's isn't really an issue if both are serviced and functioning properly. You say that your son will be driving the car when he's of age, and the bumpers on a 77 would be a consideration because more than likely he's gonna bump into something and they are less likely to be damaged in a low speed impact vs. the early style bumpers. The other thing since you live in Ca. to consider is Smog on the '77. Again, not really a big deal if the car is maintained properly. Just a few thoughts. Both cars are lots of fun, but the '72 will probably end up costing you LOTS more $$$ in the long run just to get into safe operating condition IMHO.

Differences between an E31 and E88 on a L24
Well, it seems my E31 head is too eaten up by electrolysis to be cost effective to repair. I was able to get what appears to be a good E88 head from a friend. Are there any differences I should be aware of between the two heads on an otherwise stock L24?

Is this head gonna be ok???
Dropped my head off today at a reputable recommended shop and they are gonna check it out and work it over for me. He said he's seen and repaired much worse.

Is this head gonna be ok???
So, when I take this thing in, if the shop I go to checks it out and feels its repairable, what do you guys feel is "reasonable" price wise to have it refreshed? I'm not gonna go off the deep end or anything, just what should be done. I've had some suggestions on where to take it from a friend who's more of a motor guy than I am but I've never had to have any head work done and don't want to get $crewd in the process.

Is this head gonna be ok???
Blue, I did some searching and saw the pics you posted of yours. Mine doesn't look as severe, but I'm guessing it would be electrolysis. My car did sit for 23 years before I got it and I'm pretty sure there might have been some HG leaking going on before it was parked. It does/did run good though.....

Is this head gonna be ok???
Thanks Steve. It's actually an E31. I'll take it somewhere to get looked at and see what the damages are gonna be.
