  1. Nice find on the electrical connectors, GreenZZZ !! I'm still trying to find a nice crimper that will let me put those ends on a 10ga wire.... Edit: Looks like I spoke too soon. That site also has a pretty sweet electrical toolkit. Quality looks decent too (better than local Autozone crap). http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/tools.htm

Man, that's a beauty... No matter what they did with the engine, the car looks a lot better. Is the G37 supposed to replace the G35?

I'm closing this thread... it should be in the classifieds.
  4. In the car, the lower part of the audio spectrum works the best by shifting air. Z's has it right, you don't want the thing pointed at your head, but, you do want the speaker to move air within the car. In a Z, you're going to feel it anywhere you put the thing. I don't see many options for a subwoofer like that other than running it parallel to the rear hatch.
  5. Looks pretty good... anyone want to buy it and give a report?
  6. Did you put this in the calendar? It'll get front page...
  7. Here's an option... take the tank out of your '77 and replace that with a fuel cell. Put the '77 tank into the '76. (sorry in advance if these two years aren't compatible... I don't know the 280z that well)
  8. There isn't a limit to post pix... you should have the ability to post as many as you like.... I suggest putting them in your gallery.
  9. Excellent!! I love this stuff. That clutch is friggin sweet.
  10. astro, is this on the calendar? If not, you can add it by clicking on the "Participate" or Calendar menu item on the top... it will then be shown on the front page.

    Thanks!
  12. Take the grill off and have it media blasted and repainted. You lucked out because the rust bubbles are on a removable piece of bodywork. While the panel is removed, make sure to check the inside of that area. You should also remove the windshield wiper motor and check the hidden areas. Rust bubbles, anywhere on the car, usually indicate another problem deeper in the metal. But, sometimes you luck out and it's simply on the surface. -- M

Hi guys, Does anyone know what kind of fuel pressure is required to run the stock 280z fuel injection? -- Mike
  14. Nice work! I love it when progress happens...
  15. I've gone through my entire electrical system. I've also gone through the pain and the effort to find new connectors, crimps, ends, and other various things. What I found is that not all connectors are available. Some of them are still around, but, difficult to find. I think this is one of the reasons somebody hasn't come up with a brand new replacement wiring harness for the Z. There are various posts on this website that will help you in this research. Use the search utility and you'll find a lot of it.
  16. 37 this year, in Oregon... Still feeling young and crazy!

Yes, a dual-layer can support 7.92GB and that will be plenty of room. But, I might want to go with a single layer DVD (4.38GB) for compatibility reasons. I am still not sure what we'll need until all of the data is put together, so, I'm saving the decision for later.
  18. $500 for the actual car in 1987. It had a blown engine due to a frozen block. I spent about $2k and I drove it through college. In 1996 I started sandblasting and removing parts..... After approximately $18k in various parts, labor, and other things, the car is 99% finished. All-in-all, I have about $20-$21k into this car over the past 20 years.
  19. zhead, I moved your thread to the front page news area and added a little icon so that it shows up on the top. Hope you don't mind... Here are a few beer-related photos for all of ya... (if you can't see the photos because you clicked the "read more" link from the front page news block, simply scroll up and click "FORUM VIEW" and you'll see this message as a real forum message)
  20. Don't get pinched! And, be safe at the pubs tonight.
  21. I don't think they have an ADA approved stock class do they? -- MIke
  22. Hey Tomohawk, I understand you're really into RC models? Do you know if there's a 240z body available anywhere? I'd like to get my hands on a 240z RC car and paint it like mine. As far as the scaled die-cast models.... the 1:24's are better than a Hotwheel. Frankly, I like any kind of 240z model. I picked up one of the Franklin Mint models a few years ago and that's an excellent die-cast. But, I believe it's a 1:18? Toecutter, that red model looks IDENTICAL to your ride.... I wish they had a yellow one for obvious reasons....
  23. I'm interested.
  24. Guys, there is no sense in keeping this thread going. It's insane to discuss lubrication of the wiper boots or whatever this thread has turned into. I already outlined that Tomohawk got screwed in his transaction. Check that one off as a bad Ebay experience. I am going to close the thread so we can all move on to the next subject matter.
  25. You got screwed Tomo.... New boots should last a lot longer than a few months.
