Hope your enjoyin the work, there is a hell of a lot of it while your in the process, but lookin back it was a lot of fun. Good pick on the rust protectant, I used POR all over the car. Like 4 cans! I have had my dash cap 10 years, no warping, course i was in indiana, but we get real hot summers.

I 2nd the dash cap. I have had people in my car commenting the dash and how it isn't cracked at all. I don't bother mentioning its a dash cap, you can barely tell. Unless your going all original, just cap it, right around a hundred bucks i think.

Hey Fast Woman, I settled in Oceanside, CA for now. Just rented a room. I am trying to find work in San Diego or a little bit north around here. I have just been hitting the jobs sites and hopefully I'll find something soon. I gotta thank Motorman7 for his hospitality, and introducing me to the local z clubs. Thats about it for me. I appreciate you all reading my blog, and I hope you enjoyed reading. Quite a trip that I will never forget. Nice to be on the road not knowing where your gonna be next or whats gonna happen next. Hey Guys Has anyone noticed that people in the new z's never seem to notice us older z's. Im mean even acknowledge us. Whats up with that? I can't count the number of times i have gone too waive at a new z only to feel like a dummy for not being noticed. I caught a girl in a 350z the other day and said hi. She thought i was a weirdo. Maybe the nostalgia only goes for us older Z's and is just lost on the newer generation z owners. Alright i had to get that out, its been bugging me Later Frankie

Winter snow

Alright glad u guys didn't beat me up to bad. I am down in San Diego this week lookin around. As far as the miles, it should be around 5200 give or take. My speedometer ate it in minnesota. However many, its been quite a drive. I gotta admit im a little tired of driving and ready to call it. Just gotta find the right place. Thought about Denver Darrell and my buddy wants me to come back. But im not sure i would make it through a summer in the snow with the z. Frankie

So...... Got to Oregon drove around, eugene, medford, astoria, and back down the coast. Saw the rain and the cold weather......came back down to Southern California. I didn't want to say anthing. Don't hate me, im sure the weather in Oregon is beautiful at times. Just wasn't for me. I going to shop around and make sure i find a place i can commit to. Hope i didn't disappoint. Frankie

Im heeeeerrrrreeee I missed alot of stuff coming up, had to head inland from San Fransico to make a job interview in Astoria. I plan on heading back down after the interview to catch what i missed. So whats up with full service gas stations everywhere??? So far i like oregon. I have been keeping an eye out for a place to call home, and a job to afford that home. Looking too be by the coast, but might go for Eugene, or Portland. Trying to figure it out. Had a bad night last night. I got sick. And I was camping, not a good combo. On top of that my air mattress blew a hole so I had to sleep right on the ground . Looking to sleep a little better tonight. I'll keep postin as long as people keep readin. Or until i finally find a place to settle. Frankie

You guys were right. PCH was the only way to go, gorgeus. Big Sur had it all, good winding, twisting roads, with long off ocean views and the tall cliffs. Best drive in America, dare i say. Whoever said i need a better camera was right. The attached photos don't do it justice what so ever. But i think it could only really be appreciated in person. Enjoy the pics Frankie

I wouldn't take any other route. I have been lookin forward to this part of the trip from the start. Weather looks so so. I make sure to take some pics. I have been seeing the sites in LA. Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, you know the usual. Pretty cool being down here and finally seeing the ocean for the first time in 10 years!!!!! Spent sometime working on my window today. Found a regulator on craigslist for 30 bucks. I thought it would take forever to put it in. 20 minutes. I couldn't believe it. That regulator was the easiest part to put in yet. crazy, i get the same gas smell, im prolly gonna let the oil go this time round until i get farther on my trip I think the its prolly fine Frankie

Id love too sample the oil, if i get a chance I will. Gonna try the new oil filter, once i change it again. I just didn't want any crude wearin it out. Thanks again Frankie

So to update on my travels. I woke up in flagstaff earlier to make it up to the Grand Canyon. Had to hit that up. Amazing! Then drove up to Las Vegas and spent a night. I had to sleep for a bit because of the driving. Woke up late and walked the strip. First time in vegas. Pretty cool. The z got a little hotter in the heat, but still didn't make it past the middle on the temp gage. After vegas i headed out to LA and im gonna spend some time here with family before i head north. Nice to have a break after all the miles. Frankie

Hey, The springs were fine. I drove all day and it only did it to me once in the morning??? HUH, oh well. I would love to drive through Idaho, but i don't have the time this go around. Utah was a big surprise. Mountains on top of Plateau's, very scenic. Every turn there was something to take a picture of. I went through monument valley and saw mexican hat. Here are a few pics. The old z looks pretty proud i think. Can't believe its still goin strong. Great weather, hope it keeps up Frankie

Hey man its farther to go back then finish. And thats what im gonna do Had my best ride yet in the Z. I - 70 through the rockies, past denver. Gorgeous ride up the mountains. Got up to about 11000 feet! The Z handled it like a champ. Except for one thing. The accelerator is depressing on its own???? Doesn't give it gas but seems to go down off my foot all by itself. Gotta check in out in the morning. I suspect a spring. Can't say enough about the drive. Mountains were awesome. I think that was the worst part of my journey as far as stress on the car. So hopefully its all down hill from here. Weather is getting nicer. So sleepin out doors isn't as bad. Plannin on being in Oregon in about a week in a half. I got a couple of stops along the way, and family to see. Stay tune. Frankie

Hey guys I have notice my oil gets dirty very quickly. I put in a new engine about 2500 miles ago. I knew i would have to change a couple of times but i thought i was through that. I changed it at about 250, then about 1000, and finally at about 2000. I wouldn't have changed it the third time but it was pretty dirty oil. Now again it is dirtier then ever. I am driving long distances so I can't risk it. Why would it be getting this dirty this fast? Just typical new engine break in. It was pretty tight when i first put it back together. Any thoughts appreciated. Frankie
