  1. Mike! It think you figured it out! http://www.autoblog.com/2005/11/27/russians-creating-a-mid-engine-racer-named-nebo/ Notice the Headlights, A-pillar and rear end... I'm going to do a little more research... Here's another... can anyone read Russian???? http://www.cardesign.ru/ru/projects/text-16.html Nate

  3. Just a few of my reasons for "requiring" a truck... 1) Front End Loaders tend to have problems fitting 1.5 Cubic Yards of mulch in a SUV or the trunk of a sedan. 2) It's a lot easier loading and loading 10 five gallon buckets of driveway sealant (50+ lbs. each) without a roof above your head, that and they just flat out don't fit in the Sentra's trunk. 3) 80 bundles of shingles... 1/2 pickup = 2 trips, Pathfinder = 8 trips. Carl... your truck brings back some fond memories of my first vehicle, I had a Black '88 Chevy C1500 Long-Bed with the Silverado Package... I loved that truck, 188,000 miles when I traded it for a Toyota MR2, one of my dumbest decisions to date.
  4. It's a real shame they're outta blinker fluid cause I'm a little low but dig these road flares... http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=33
  5. I consider my Z my daily driver until winter comes, but the drive way contains my wifes '05 Sentra 1.8S Special Edition and my '02 Pathfinder SE 4x4. We talked ourselves into the Pathy from my leased '03 Frontier XE 4x4 Off-Road, which I seriously regret. That truck was awesome!!! Quite frankly I don't know how anyone can own a house without owning a truck, this SUV crap is killing me. I'm just hanging on 'till I can get a deal on a king cab 4x4 Titan. Don't get me wrong, the Pathy is a great vehicle it just doesn't fit our needs.
  6. Just as already said... it's a concept car. All companies make concepts to test ideas and reactions to those ideas. Realistically, chances are this car will never make it to production. And hopefully the name never even gets thought as even a remotely possible production name, but elements of this car could be feasible... we could very well see those headlights on a a very near model and maybe elements from the electronics, ie: new ECU or climate control devices, knobs and switches and so on and so forth. As far as the concept goes, I would be more inclined to have a positive outlook for it if it was painted a solid color and had all of it's pieces... and a much better name, heck how about a play on an old name like ###SX or NX####. Engine size has yet to be nailed down but the concept is powered by the Frontier's 4cyl (2.5L), but Nissan told Car and Driver if the car was to make it to production it would have a performance oriented 4cyl. my $.02- Nate
  7. Tomo- where did you see that UA was involved? Last I not I caught, WB was still holding the rights. Either way it's bound to be good because the Wachowski bothers (of Matrix fame) have gotten involved. http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/717/717148p1.html
  8. I'm not gonna say that there isn't A LOT of things I wouldn't do different, but it's not as bad as MANY others. Fender mirrors would go better with different wheels, ie: really wide Wats.
  9. tom- No rust converter... just original primer, possibly some primer from a respray and paint from a respray. That's it. Outside of carpet, paint and recovered seats she is original with 291,000. Virtually no rust... all the usual floor pan and battery tray rust is non existant, just a little starting to pop up on the RH dog leg. Nate
  10. So I went ahead and popped my cowl off... and thankfully I was happy to see that there wasn't anything evil awaiting me. a few pine needles and a small amount of very minor surface rust. But like mentioned in the opening post, no paint. I did have some over spray from a paint job the PO had done on the car sometime back though, so I guess that's better than nothing. This just means that I can rest easy and work on the other areas of the car that need help without having to worry about the rust demons here. Nate
  11. I think what we are all seeing here is the detachment from the brand/model imagery. Think of the sheer number of cars makes and models being sold today. I bet for the most part the Mini folks are feeling the same thing. A fella driving an old mini (especially with as hard as they are to get here in the states) probably doesn't get have as much recognition as he thinks he should fromt the new model owners... why? Really, does the 22 year old female freshly graduated from college that goes out and buys the mini because "it's cute" know or even care about the original mini... I'm gonna fathom no on this one. I think the same will be true if they do bring the new "MG's" to the states also. I am lucky enough to live near Watkins Glen and therefore people around here that drive classics tend to give/return a wave. Lot's of old MG's and Porsche's transit through on their way to the track or just on a leisure scenic cruise. Whenever I see a 350 in a parking lot or gas station and I'm in the Z, I try to strike up a conversation with them and if they're not aware I look at it as education time for them and hope I can spark their interest in their cars roots. Apparently it's working, I now have a couple of 350 owners in this area that intiate the wave/horn blow/light flash now.
  12. How is the "import" turn out? With there only being two import classes it put's all classic Z's in the same category (Foreign Pre-2000) as a riced out Honda Civic, '63 Ferrari 250GTO, MG's, Porsche's, Jaguar's, Yugo's... you name it. That's some pretty broad territory to fill. Just curious... I could see the only having two import classes if only 10 imports show up, though. It does sound like a pretty good show... sounds like an all day-er I like the No-Rain advertisement

  14. I'm a big fan of Castrol products. The Trans and the Diff both use SAE 90 gear oil. Since you'll be pretty hard pressed to find Straight SAE 90 in 2006, that leaves 75W-90 or 80W 90 personally I use Castrol Hypoy C. While in South Carolina I used 80W-90 which is probably the best bet for TX. Nate
  15. That header look's pretty unique. AH HA! That look's like the Clifford Research Header. It's mentioned on page 128 of How to Modify Your Nissan & Datsun OHC Engine by Frank Honsowetz. 1 1/2" primaries at 27"-29" long. Cool. Here is a link http://www.cliffordperformance.net/ If it's the same company It doesn't look like they deal in Nissan anymore... might be worth a call though.
  16. Chris- Do you know if those are still available? I'd like to get a couple, hmmm maybe ebay?
  17. I've used a beach towel before with a couple of small magnets to stop it from sliding off ... pretty ghetto-fabulous! Light and flexible, good for preventing scratches but I don't think it offers much more protection than that. Maybe someone could post a product review of the MSA and/or TIR covers with photos and opinions. Nate
  18. Howdy and welcome. I searched for no less than 3 years for an orange 72 240z and finally found mine in Southern California via http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com/ . And if you find one a good distance from you, I used http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ . I was pleased with their service and it only ran $670 for Southern California to Charleston, South Carolina... litterally across the country. Good luck on your search and do plenty of research here on the site. Nate
