  1. Mine is a '77 280z coupe. I bought a set for remote door locks from Summit but they were too large so I am back to ground zero looking for a remote door lock solution. Wanting to see if anyone has had sucess in installing remote door locks without cutting the doors and if so, could you share a link to where I can get them? Thanks for any help......
  2. Yes this is the correct and recommended solution. I also had a lock smith re-do all my locks to work off one key,

  4. Saw this today on Craig's List and was wondering what folks thought.... http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/1342382780.html
  5. I have a 77 280z coupe and need to find the black interior trim pieces that cover the steering column. Thanks for any tips. Tommy
  6. Is there any other 14" regular wheel that will fit that I could use? I'd rather not use racing wheels or mags, etc or go bigger. Just a plan 14" wheel that I can use my 280z hub caps on. I bought a used set from a '78 that were worse than mine so I'm looking for a new set of wheels this time.
  7. Sorry guys but I searched through threads here but only found sizes for changing the wheel size. What was the original wheel size for a '77 coupe? Just the plain wheels that came out in prodcution. I know they are 14" but what was the width (4.5? or 5? or other) and offset (if applicable)? Three of my rims are out of round and I'm going to go ahead and buy new ones but I need this info so I can shop around. Thanks
  8. For my '77 280z my fan was also craked and missing a few teeth so I used a fan blower from a '91 Honda Civis. Just had to open the hole just a little. Plug and play other than that. It blows 3 times harder that then original 280z fan. Am very happy with this set up.
  9. Exactly what I was looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tommy
  10. My '77 is all fixed as I want it but I still have this problem: 1. Running Rich 2. MPG is 17mpg - was up to 22mph for a few days...... 3. I can feel the gas loading up coming out of 1st and 2nd gear (bogs down a little) 4. All tests at a local NISSAN dealer with a "gray beard" mechanic show no problems. I even left it with him for 3 weeks but he could not find anything. I do drive her every day and the backend is showing the collection of black smoke from running rich. My question is: 1. Since I am not a mechanic at all, what kind of shop could I take her to - ie like a Race Shop, a luxury car shop, etc???? I am not sure where to go with this now. I am in the Atlanta area. (History info) 1. New Cold start injector- April 2009 2. New Plugs/wires – jan 2009 3. New Vacumm hoses all round – jan 2009 4. New Fuel Injectors, new wiring harness/pigtails – Jan 2009 5. Rebuilt Air Flow Meter installed - jan 2009 6. New Thermotime switch – April 2009 7. Swapped 4 speed xmission for rebuilt 5-speed
  11. Just a little more info - I did have the oil pressure checked at a shop not long ago and it was fine. I just never paid attention to the gauge really til yesterday. When the car starts, the Oil Pressure is about 45 to 50. But the gauge reads about 25 after I pull out of the driveway and goes to zero at a red light. I saw on some other boards where other folks have the similar experience. The general idea is that these Oil gauges aren't very good.....but I will check my oil pressure just to be sure......
  12. When running on the interstate at about 60mph, my oil pressure reads about 20 to 30 (about 25% of the gauge) but it drops to almost zero at the red light. This is not normal is it? Thanks for any help
  13. Not a vinyl story - but I ordered a rebuilt ECU from them. First one was bad - car wouldn't start at all. But they did ship me a replacement that has worked ok for 3 days so far.
  14. Thanks - glad to hear from you.
  15. Yeah, the thermotime switch was replaced already before this particular issue happened. It was retested though and ruled out. No starting problems so far since I got the car back.
  16. update- 06-02-09 ECU was replaced two days ago and so far it starts alot better than ever. Seems to start almost as soon as the key is turned. A mechanic friend tells me that if the intermitent "starting problem" reocurrs, that I should look at the Ignition Module (aka Ignitor). Does this sound right? Thanks
  17. Must be able to play well with others..........
  18. Well the thought now after more testing at NISSAN- it was the computer - I ordered one from Black Dragon. Will provide results later I get it in.
  19. It does start eventually, In the two instances of this issue, once it started after 1/2 hours and the next time more than 1 hour went by.
  20. My '77 280z has just had the temp sensor to the fuel injectors replaced and this solved myMPG issue and now the car starts well whether hot or cold - except - when I travel only a short distance (ie 3 to 5 miles) and then it will not start back up. For example. I traveled from my house to the gas station (about 3 miles), turned the car off, filled up my tank, and then tried to start it up but all it would do is turn over but never catch fire. This story happened to me a couple a couple of times. Over the last year I have replaced all fuel injectors, cold-start injector, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires. I now have the car at NISSAN looking this over but they asked for my books on the car yesterday and my confidence is waning. Thanks for any hints........
  21. May have had to bad 280z blowers then as the Civic blower was the 3rd one I went to. Its possible.
  22. I went with a blower and fan from a 91 Civic. Had to open the hole just a little but not big problem there. Blows about 3 or 4 times harder that the stock 280z blower. Am very happy with this.
  23. The passenger side mirror was an option in '77.
  24. The Pioneers are screwed down to the Hatch Floor - so they don't move around. But I do want to replace them with a speaker box that covers the tail light section eventually. I have looked around for the past year on wheels that I would like but so far I can't find anything that suits me better that the stock hubs caps. But the good part is, that I have time to work on these little things and don't have to rush on anything now that it is on the road.
