Mikuni's VS SU's??
Aaron, I have been to their websiteseveral times, but never saw the set-up pamphlet. Thanks for the head-up on that. Glad to hear I can get vaccuum on the manifold. That is one less thing I need to deal with. Marty

Mikuni's VS SU's??
Yeah I know. I have a separate post where we are discussing coilovers. The suggestion there was to get an LSD instead. Ideally I would like to do the Mikuni's, a hotter cam, coilovers and an LSD. I only have some much funding though, !! I am thinking of what makes the most sense to get the most bang for my bucks. Right now the suspension handles very well. I know coilovers would be an improvement, but I am not that unhappy with the handling. So what I am leaning toward now is to get an LSD and put on the Mikuni's. As funds allow, I will put in the hotter cam and follow up with the coilovers. All opinions welcome! Marty

Mikuni's VS SU's??
I have not looked at the specs on these for a very long time. There is a guy locally that has a set of Mikuni's with the following jetting: 200 Air; 150 Fuel and 52.5 Pilot. Venturi's are 34MM Does anybody know if that would work well with my engine? (See details of engine post #1). Also, as I recall, triple carbs do not have a vaccuum port for the distributor, right? I am currently running a ZX distibutor with the E12-80 module. What would I need to do with that? TIA, Marty

Mikuni's VS SU's??
Which ISKY cam would you recommend? I definitely want to stay away from Schneider. No sense in doing the job more than once.

Another S30 coilover option?
So, when do you expect to have them available for the S30? Marty

Ok, so you have my interest. Do you have an LSD that would bolt into my 4.11 R180 diff and how much do those run? Thanks, Marty

Need some coilover over advice
The tires I have are Toyo RA 1's size 225/50/15. I wanted to lower the car more to improve handling. Friends of mine have said that they have knocked off several seconds in their lap times by going with coilovers. I have a cheap pyrometer that I got from Harbor Freight. Not sure how accurate it is, but I figured it would give me SOME idea what tire temps were. I have not had much experience with suspension tuning, so I am trying to learn and see what I can do to improve the car at a reasonable cost. Thanks, Marty

Mikuni's VS SU's??
I was looking for some advice on carbs. First, here is some information on my car: Early '71 240Z currently has stock struts, 5-way Illuminas, MSA lowering springs, short steering knuckles, PU bushings. 15x7 Konig Rewinds mounted with 225/50/15 RA 1's. '83 280ZX engine, bored 40 over, with '83 5 spd and 4.11 open diff. I mainly use the car at track day events like NASA HPDE and similar events. I am looking to wring some more horsepower out of my car. I am considering an MSA Stage II cam kit. So then I started thinking about carb choices. I currently have the stock SU's on my car and they are in pretty good shape. I was wondering if triple Mikuni's would add signifcantly more performance over the SU's? If yes, are they much harder to tune and maintain? Is the added expense worth it? TIA, Marty

Need some coilover over advice
I am considering switching over to some Ground Control coilovers. So far I have only done bolt on mods to the car, since it was a fairly low mile, early car. I pulled the original engine and set it aside for safe keeping. I figured once I retire it from track duty, I would restore it to stock condition. Is it worth going with coilovers without also doing the camber plates? I did not like the idea of cutting into the strut towers. Does anyone know which Illuminas fit into the sectioned struts? Or would you advise going to a different shock? What would you recommend as far as spring rates go? Thanks, Marty

Pay it forward!!!
Dustin, Bob and H.H., your parts are on there way. With a little luck, you might have them before Xmas. There are a few parts left: - '83 fan and fan clutch. clutch feels good. - '83 thermastat housing - '83 Pulley - '70 Water Pump pulley cover. Great core to send in for re-plating. - '70-71 Fan clutch. Not pretty but worked well when removed. - Left side headlight cover. Good condition, with gasket. Marty

Best Z Barn Find
Do you still have any of the immaculate interior parts? I own a blue/blue car. You might have something I could use, if you want to get rid of it. I never had the luck of finding a Z tucked away somewhere. They are all rusted and gone around here years ago. Marty

speed bleeder size for Toyota Calipers
They are the same size as the Nissan calipers. Do a search on Speed Bleeders. I know I posted the part numbers quite a while ago, but don't have the information in front of me. Marty

Pay it forward!!!
Shifter grommet, tool covers and bump stops have been gifted to a new home. Marty

Pay it forward!!!
Bump, for some nice parts still left. Pictures in the first post. - Pair door handles. Few pits and scratches, but work well. - '70-71 Shifter to tunnel grommet. New!! - Stock coils. They would work fine on a driver. - '83 fan and fan clutch. clutch feels good. - '83 thermastat housing - '83 Pulley - '70 Water Pump pulley cover. Great core to send in for re-plating. - '70-71 Fan clutch. Not pretty but worked well when removed. - Left side headlight cover. Good condition, with gasket. - Energy Suspension bump stops. - New!! - '70 - 71 Tool covers. A couple of cracks, but very serviceable for a driver that has them missing. Let's get in the spirit and keeps this going!! Marty

Vented front discs / rear drum bias
I run that setup on my '71 and it sees a lot of track days. Even with the stock master cylinder I have not needed to change the bias. You will need it even less on the street. Marty
