Fuel pump set up for triple webers on 70 240z
Blue, Can you give more details on this? What is it exactly and how, where is it installed? Is this a fuel cut-off switch that kills the pump when oil pressure drops? thanks, Marty

Yes, I can see what you mean. Unless you are looking for exacting duplicates of the Works wheel, they are all beautiful.

Thanks for the reply. I would love to have a set of those, but in 15x7. You just can't get any really good tires to fit 14x7 wheels over here any longer. Keeps up the godd work. Your car will be very special when you are finished.

You have collected some really nice pieces there. Are those Kobe Seiko wheels real Works wheels or aftermarket? I love the look of those. Marty

S30 240Z Datsun from Poland
My friend confirmed that you have his old car. He bought it in Austin Texas and drove it back up here. It lived in the suburbs of Chicago for a number of years. He used it mostly as a track day car and did high speed, on track autocross with it. Check out my gallery and you will see pictures of our cars at a track day at Road America in Oct. 2005. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=874&cat=500&page=3 He sold the car to a guy in Texas so he could buy a vintage race Z. It's a small world!! Enjoy the car, it looks great. Marty

Oil / Oil Additive Question
That was an Ad? I thought they were talking about a controlled test. It even sounds like the test was flawed. Thanks for clearing that up. I found it hard to believe that Castrol GTX was crap. It has been good in my cars since 1980. Not to say that something else may be better. Everybody has a product that they seem to like. Thanks, Marty

Oil / Oil Additive Question
Wow!!! I would like to see that test. I have always thought Catrol GTX was a high quality oil. I have been using it in my cars since 1980. Sounds like I need to find an alternative. Marty

racing safety advice
This is the seat that I use: http://ultrashieldrace.com/prod.php?id=7 I mounted it with some Sparco side mount frames. That allows you to place it where you want it. It will get you low, but without sliders. I also used an Auto Power roll bar in my track day car. It worked fine. Of course a full cage would be better, but kind of a pain in a street driven car. Use plenty of roll bar padding!! Marty

Want to buy - Air cleaner housing for new round-top carbs
Yes. The "special Bolts" did not change over the years.

Want to buy - Air cleaner housing for new round-top carbs
Here are the special bolts that the wing bolts screw into. The other 2 bolts that hold on the the air box are common 10mm bolts. Marty

Difference in Oil Pressure Gauges
I have a '70 model, blt. 6/70. The The temp/oil pressure gauge went bad recently. I am having trouble finding a good oil pressure gauge that reads up to 140, like the one in the car now. I have found a known good gauge, but the pressure only goes up to 90 (later model). If I install the later gauge, will it read accurately? If anybody has a good one that read up to 140, let me know. Marty

Parts, parts, and more parts
George, Right now I need a temp/oil pressure gauge and the amp/fuel gauge for my 6/70 model. Let me know if you have working gauges you want to get rid of. Thanks, Marty

ZCON Roll Call
!!! Well, congrats on the 2nd place finish! you certainly deserve it. Is JT's car in any of the photos? There is one car that appears to be 919 yellow in great shape. I would have liked to see that one in person. What an amazing gathering of beautiful Z's. Wish I could have been there. Marty

Turn Signal Went Up In SMoke
I checked the fuses and none of them are blown. It is kinda weird that the fuse box cover does not list which one goes to the gauges though. Your surge theory may fit. On the way home from work, when I hit 70 on the highway, the gauges started working again. Now they seem to cycle on and off. I may have accidentally left the key in the on position when I was plugging in the switch. Maybe that "shocked" the gauges?? So, do you fix gauges too? I'll have to send you a PM about the original switch. Are electronic flashers available at a common parts store, or where would I get one? Thanks, Marty

Turn Signal Went Up In SMoke
Update on the turn signal switch. A local Z buddy of mine had a switch that has the same connectors, except that one of them had a longer wire loom than the original. This website:http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/240Z-parts-electrical.html identifies it as being for cars built 9/71 - 7/73. Last night I hooked it up and everything with it functioned correctly. I drove the car to work today. Now the temp gauge and the oil pressure gauge are not working. Both were working prperly before the switch was put in. Could this be some weird coincidence? I could not believe that the turn signal switch had any connection with the other gauges. Marty

I need everyones input on this one (Combo and T/S switches)
Dave, This website has pictures with the build dates: http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/240Z-parts-electrical.html Marty

Brake pad preference
I used Axxis Ultimates (Kevlar/ceramic) with my vneted 4x4 calipers. They worked fnatastic on the track. Never faded. They also worked fine on the street. Only issue was that the tended to dust up quite a bit. Marty

Brake pad preference
It depends. What are you using the car for? Track days? Street driving?

Turn Signal Went Up In SMoke
So... Does anyone know which of the P/N's I listed is the correct one for the turn signal switch? Thanks, Marty
