1956 BN2 Healey
That looks like a pretty cool engine. Wish I knew more about it....anyone? On a somewhat realated topic, there was a AH with a L24 posted here or somewhere just the other day. EBAY I think. Also, (even more unrelated...) we have a club member with an Austin with a MBz DOHC engine and a T-5 in it. steve

defroster lines material?
NAPA sells the paint too. Too bad you couldn't just glue Christmas tinsel to it.....! I've got a vertical grid rear glass for sale. Looks good, but haven't tested it..... steve

fuel injection?
Start looking around for someone who is discarding all the (alleged) "intake crap off this 280 motor". If you are patient and smart, before long you will have a stack in your garage of intakes, injectors, harnesses, AFM.s TB's and 'puters for a VERY SMALL outlay of funds. $25-75 for an entire intake assembly and $25-75 for a 'puter. All depends on how patient you are. Alot of this stuff is practically free. FI is made up of a whole bunch of $100 (new) parts lined up and when they are all talking to each other properly, everything works flawlesslessly. If communication breaks down or one part isn't doing it's job, things get kinda sketchy. If you have a friend with a FI 280 to compare to, it really helps. Either that or take a bunch of pix of one and set yours up the same way to familiarize yourself with what every part does and where all the wires and hoses go. Information about engine temp and vaccuum etc. is constantly being fed to various parts and assemblies. I would seggest setting everything up stock EXACTLY LIKE IT IS ON A PERFECTLY RUNNING FI 280Z and THEN, after you have learned how everything fits together in the lovely FI jigsaw puzzle, start removing unnecessary items (smog, perhaps?) and 'jiggin wit it'. FI RULES!!!! steve ps...You're going to get a whole buncho of people calling you stupid and idiotic for considering FI as it is a stupid idea that is 'untunable' and 'unmodifiable' and 'weak' and "why bother" when you can put on carbs or triples and get "ten times the power for ten times less money" and on and on and on. BE STRONG, MY FRIEND! Don't listen to anybody who uses a choke on a regular basis.

OK, the link doesn't work, but those of you who are good at 'fixing' links' will have no trouble locating it. Looks like Veronica Zemanova to me. steve

My LHD '86 Z31 has the brake lever where it belongs--in the passenger compartment. I've never seen a RHD Z31, but a pic in a magazine of a 200ZR (home market ONLY, I believe) shows it on the right side of the tunnel too. The Z32 was the first model where the brake position was 'integrated' into the console design. On LHD models, it is on the right. steve

What's the best part about a Left-hand-drive S-30? You get to touch your buddy's leg when you park. steve

I think Capri's have been kicked around and ignored a bit by the uneducated American car buyer because they were always viewed as some sort of inferior Mercury version of the Mustang. This isn't completely off-topic, because it is another example of the American car buyer assuming the World revolves around them. I don't think it donned on many Americans what the Capri really was until the XR4ti started being marketed. steve

Well..I'm not "ugly American"-sized. I'm 5'4 and the footrest in my HLS-30 is COMPLETELY UNOBTAINABLE to my left foot. Only by pointing my toes and stretching can I 'rest' on it. Here's a funny thing, though: on my Z31, there is a foot rest to the left of the clutch that I can comfortably rest my foot on. steve

P90a True or False...
No!....honest to god question. I ran into an [alleged] anomaly yesterday--but have not proved it visually. steve

P90a True or False...
True or False: ALL P90a heads have hydraulic lifters. steve

Interesting the pedals levers themselves 'bend' to the right on a RHD Z. HLS-30's pedal levers 'bend' to the right also. steve

>>>>I am NOT going to attempt to list the differences between RHD and LHD versions. Over here in the UK, there are quite a few cars that have been converted <<<<< Alan, Alan...Alan....(And I have enjoyed this evening a nice Bombay Sapphire, medium, up, olive...a nice bottle of cold Ozeki [with some mediocre sushi] and am working on a very tall Reidel of CA syrah)...I just CAN NOT believe this statement out of you! Is should be VERY SIMPLE!!!!! Are you somehow forgetting all the identical right/left parts that came off the ZERO monocoque? In fact, I'll bet you a bottle of 2003 Fairlady the button in the end of the handbrake is IDENTICAL in both a RHD and LHD S30. To Datsun genius! steve

240 F/s
I wondered when the trues would let loose....When I heard on the phone this car was for sale (I am quite familiar with it), I said, "What's he want, 14?" I felt that was a good starting point. Then I was told the price and just shook my head. When I posted that pic of the sway bar, I thought, uh-oh, wonder how long before someone spots that one?!? steve
