Broken stud, help...
In the long run this is the best idea. That is to take it to the shop. Let us know how it works out.

But what if the US lost ...
If it were up to me I would turn the whole area into a glass covered self lighting parking lot.

Electronic ignition
I am running a'79zx dist. and coil , no ballest resister and the tach works just fine . I have a '73 , I was told when I made the mod that my tach would not work but johnH240 from Zcar.com told me if the tach dident work when I wired everything up to switch the wires . :classic:

Broken stud, help...
depending on what is left of the bolt , If you have room drill into the bolt next to the ezout with out hitting it , because it will snap the bit if y ou hit the hadend steel. If you can drill sucessfully around the ez out then you can knock it loose. Other wise you just need to pick around it and try and loosen it. A 1/16 " drill will work if you can get it in . Good luck

350Z finally in Oz
:classic: there were 4 350Zs for sale in the classified ads today they had from 1k to 3500 miles on them and were 3k or more below MSRP . Why would someone spend the bucks and drive the car 1000 miles and sell it ? Makes me wonder what is wrong with them .

The FJ is coming back!!!
:classic: Over all it looks good , It can be picked apart of cource but this is the best retro I have seen yet . There are a couple of things that look a little funky from the picture , like the door handes and front bumper , but in person both may work well. Overall I think they hit a home run.:classic:

Vinyl roof anyone?
I have a row of holes on a simi circle just ahead of the rear hatch. The only thing I can think of is that it must have been a vinyl top. It must have had a chrome strip on the leading edge , so the major part of the top was paint and the rest covered. That is what it seems . Glad to have the repair done and am going to paint soon I hope. :classic:

Hands Dirty?
I bought mine at costco two pair for 24.00 the best investment yet. I bought a set for a present to my son-in-law . I am going to get another pack at costco. I keep one pair in my truck to handel the hitch and greasy things and the other in the tool box. To clean I just use the orange hand cleaner and wash my hands with the gloves on , and they come out clean. Like 2many said they sure save the cuts and grease in the cuts ect.

starting problem
the one to get is from a '79 or '80 280zx be sure to get the small mounting piece at the bottom of the dist. that it mounts to. The zx coil is larger so get that mount also , there is a small black box on the side of the dist. and they are marked 12 80 . there are others but they are marked 12 94 and need a computer to make them work . I bought mine at a bone yard complete with ignition wires and coil . $75. and have been running it for over 2yrs with only good results. remember 12 80

Valve polishing?
the gain with polishing or porting will be nill in any case with a stock cam. The gain with the headers mostly the same, what you will gain is some rpm , but loss in low end tork. especially if you go with large pipeing , stay with 2" to 21/4 . If you go with a cam so the engine can breathe then the headers will add more and the electronic ign will allow ignition to red line. It's all a ballance one depends on the other .:classic:

350Z finally in Oz
:classic: I think you nailed it , the market wants soft , plush and easy listining . How much power does the Ampilifer have and how big are the speakers. Does it handel 6 cds or only 2 . A car with no power steering ? A car with out power windows of door locks ? O' no ! We the owners of the 240s and in Oz 260s and 280s we are a dieing breed I am afraid. My self I enjoy the feel of the wheel with no power steering , I am in my 60s and of deminished strength , but I do enjoy the feeling of being part of the car and not a-part from the car. I drive with out the radio because I enjoy the sound of the engine and the car as it corners and accelerates . I enjoy the music of the exhost at RPM . The new cars , which my wife and I have , are quiet and smooth and soft , but with out personality. For me the apeal of my 240 is that it looks sleek smooth and fast. My car looks fast when parked , not like a round toad with wheels. I love my 240 and at present it is in a thousand pieces , I am restoring it my self not sending it to a shop , I do have help from a dear friend . I will borrow a digital camera and post pic. nuff said
