My 71 finally back from the body shop!

rubrbulits

71 240z with BRE air dam. Bright metallic silver. Shortly after it gets home I will order a set of BRE Lemans style wheels. When I called Brock Racing Enterprises about the wheels, I was told Peter Brock would call me back to make sure I buy the correct size wheels for my car. Mr. Brock called me back a few days later and we talked Z cars for a good half hour! I was extremely impressed!

Very cool - thanks for posting! What size wheels did you end up going with, by the way? I'd really like to go 15 x 8, but I didn't see the option with BRE and from what I hear, the MSA Enkei Apache II in 15 x 8 had clearance issues and are temporarily unavailable. I'd be just as happy going with BRE wheels, even though mine is a '78.

When I spoke to Peter Brock he told me the best size wheel is the 15x6 with 3mm offset. He said these cars perform best with this size wheel and to stay away from the wide and tall wheels. Wide wheels look cool, but he says they do rob performance. This is based on the fact that I am running a mostly stock drivetrain. I suppose if you have tons of horsepower, then the dynamics change.

Excellent insight - thanks for sharing that. My car will remain mostly stock as well in terms of the drivetrain, maybe an exhaust upgrade down the road.
