Posted September 29, 200321 yr comment_51264 I saw a really nice set of 17" rims on Ebay but am unsure if they will fit. The body on my 240 is stock. I am however using Tokico springs and Illuminas on all four corners. Do you think I would be ok using these wheels, if so what tire size would you go with to prevent rubbing. Here is the linkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43957&item=2434895752ThanksMark Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8136-rims-on-ebay/ Share on other sites
September 29, 200321 yr comment_51271 They don't look too bad.. but they have so much offset I'd think you would have to run wheel spacers or you would end up with the rim touching the springs or spring perches....Probably like the ones Modern Motorsports sells so you can fit "Honda type" fwd offset wheels...You would almost have to buy them, then the spacers and measure them after you install them before you could determine what width tire would fit according to how much clearance you have. September 29, 200321 yr Author comment_51274 Thanks for the reply. I would rather not go with spacers. What would you say the max offset I could go with. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8136-rims-on-ebay/#findComment-51274 Share on other sites
September 29, 200321 yr comment_51275 I've been told that you would have little or no suspension leftAt least w/ a 16, you can run a 205/40/16but you'd be pushing it w/ a 2??/35/17 (pretty rough ride)very little betweeen the wheel and the groundbut its up to you, and spacers are so bad for your rear and put the tire a little to close to the fender leaving you w/ a ripped up tire or worseI would'nt do it but thats up to you. good luck!!
