WTB: F4W71A Reverse Idler Gear

Featured Replies

I have a donor Series 1 4-speed getting a rebuild, it needs a replacment reverse idler gear. I'm hoping that someone has a F4W71A parted out and can provide the needed part.

Do you have a pert number for the gear? I have left over new parts from a couple rebuild kits. Also, I'm not sure if an idler gear was ever in rebuild kits. If I have one it's yours for free.

It is also called the reverse counter gear P/N 32220-78010. A small gear at the end of the countershaft, engages with the reverse gear. This particular gear is only in the early type A transmission, is different in later models.

Any idea when you will know? I am about to close a deal on a core but can hold for a day or so.

Thanks,

Jim

Are you still looking for this? I just noticed this request and I might have one in a bin.

This is also called the reverse counter gear. If you have one I am interested. Thanks!

I thought I found it but I couldn't get it to fit on a counter shaft I had in my bin so I have my doubts. PXL_20260828_210536160.jpg

It sure looks like the correct part but there is a similar part on the type B transmission. Is it possible you have one from the later transmission? Thanks for checking this, much appreciated

You might be right. I can mail it to you if you want to give it a try. I wasn't going to charge you for it other than shipping.
