1972 240Z Dash Lights Dim

Featured Replies

I can't see the gauges at night with the headlights on.

The dash lights are really dim.

The car has a mystery knob near my left knee -  Dimmer?

I am planning to replace OEM  bulbs with LED's.

Do 240Z have dash light dimmers?

Thanks, Jay aka 'ZDisease'

Natural gas. Here for you
Reliable. Affordable. Natural gas. The future of clean energy is here for you.

Take a picture.  Did you turn the knob?

The knob is the rheostat for the dash lights.

Mine go from nothing to pretty dim.

Common issue

The 280Z's have another knob right next to it for the trip-meter.  Turning it won't dim the lights.

Is there a fix for the dash dimmer rheostat?

Mine has no impact on dash brightness.

Thanks, ZDisease
