What Size Bolts?

Featured Replies

I'm picking up an engine today and will be putting it on an engine stand at the guy's house since he has a hoist and I don't. However, I have no idea what size bolts I will need to attach it! Please help, I need to get the bolts before I get to his house.

Oh! The engine is from an '82 280ZX

Head bolts! Just grab some head bolts. Perfect fit, right length (sometimes with a few washers....

Just to make sure that I get the right thing I really would need to know the size. I may end up at a hardware store to get them and they will have no clue what head bolts are.

the highest hardness you can fine there is a lot of stress you can use regular washers . If you get standard bolts they can snap off. Dont skimp. :classic: I looked for my receipt but couldent come up with it. Sorry

I forgot to get back to you on this one. I just wanted to say hey thanx guys! 10mm 1.5 thread was perfect, the engine is on the stand ready for me to start learning how to tear it down and build it back up.

It's a little scary but I'm really looking forward to the experience! :nervous:
