Posted June 16, 20159 yr comment_472051 My brake lights dont work at all. All other lights work.I have power in the brake light switch behind the pedal. And power up to the blinker switch. I cant find power coming out of the blinker switch.Does that mean that the blinker switch is the problem or could it be the hazard switch (doesnt the power goes from battery-fusebox-hazard-brakeswitch-blinkerswitch and back to the tail lights). Could someone confirm./Andreas Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51663-brake-light-issue/ Share on other sites

June 16, 20159 yr comment_472078 The voltage for the brake lights is interrupted at three places downstream of the fuse:1. The switch at the brake pedal2. The hazard switch3. The turn signal switch. If you have voltage at the turn signal switch but not downstream, it could be the turn signal switch itself. With the turn signal stalk in the center position, you should have continuity between the wires on the outer part of the switch, pins 1, 2 & 3 in picture Turn_Signal_Repair_39 on the Turn Signal Repair page. There is a rocker switch (picture Turn_Signal_Repair_25) that breaks contact between 1 & 2 or 2 & 3 when you move the turn signal stalk. I understand about the translation challenges. I hope this explanation helps. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51663-brake-light-issue/#findComment-472078 Share on other sites
June 16, 20159 yr comment_472080 I had a similar issue and figured out that I had to adjust the switch. Not terribly hard but you might want to throw a couple bucks at it and get a new one just to be safe. Makes life a lot simpler. The adjustment is the hard part of it. June 16, 20159 yr Author comment_472081 Thanks Steve.Im determine that its the turn signal switch now.I just rememberd that i took it apart a couple of month ago when i had the dash board out. I had no turn signals and i fixed that but probobly i adjusted something that made the brake lights stop working.
