Trans-America Challenge 2012.

Featured Replies

Has anyone been following the Trans-America Challenge? Today it's on day four of the New York to Alaska route going through 19 States.

Car no23 is a 1971 Datsun 240Z with Roy Stephenson & Peter Robinson from the UK.

Hi Ray:

Amazing - - there is next to ZERO publicity about this event here in the U.S.. Either you are circulating in these circles or you are unaware it is happening. Perhaps the Event Organizers and participants want it that way.

I've checked the Sports Channels, National News etc. and found NO Reporting from any of the cities visited etc.

I hope someone - documents complete coverage in a video format - then sells the video's. Looks like it would be a really great way to spend May. Plus a really great event to participate in with a 240Z.

Maybe Next Year...

Wow, this is an amazing thing to behold. Go little 240Z

Althought, I bet that mark I escort was a HOOT to drive on that gravel.

What an awesome road trip, tried to attach pictures to the thread but away from home right now & having difficulties with my phone :(

Added into my picture albums instead,no idea from their website how much the whole event would cost but if you've got to ask then i guess i couldn't afford it

I owned an Escort Mk 1 for a while. It was cool to drive until it was stolen. :(

OTOH, how would the Trans-America Challenge compare to the Power Tour?

Judging by the quality if car I say the trams America has worlds more to offer

After all you can only see so many 69 camaros before they all look the same

I'm not so sure the usual street car could make the trip up there. It might not be all nicely paved roads.
