I came across a 5 speed trany that came from a 78 or a 79 620 truck ,the gears ratios on them are very close ,will it fit my 72 Z.I need your expertise on this mod.:bulb:

I read a short thread on this but it does not give any details ,it simply states that it is a common transplant......please advice....THANKS

Could you supply the link to the thread you read? Someone else might get more out of it.

What engine does the truck have in it? Have you seen the transmission or just an ad on CL?

The engine on the 620 is a L20B.

It's an FS5W71B, pretty much the same trans as the 77-79 280Z/ZX as far as ratios and they do pretty much bolt in to an S30 with the same cautions about the clutch, speedo gear, console interference (on the early 240Zs).
