I'm about to get MSA's 6 to 1 header (paintable) and was wondering about effectivness of their exhaust jackets. Are they something I need or just wasted money? Thanks for any advice.

Ordered the ceramic coated header instead. MSA said not to use them on that header. Can hardly wait for delivery.

Do yourself a favor and wrap the header with the insulation tape to keep engine compartment temps down. And apply the wrap before you install the header, it's a PITA to do it on the car.

I have had several of their headers over the years. I painted it black and wrapped it one time as well. Forget the paint, it ALWAYS burns off. Also, moisture gets into the wrap and then it eats a hole in the header eventually. Best is to get it ceramic coated one... 10+ years on mine.

Wrapping the header voids any warrantee.Ceramic coat it or just paint it.
