Rubber piece on top of radiator core support

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I am looking for the rubber piece that sits on top of the radiator core support that blocks off the small air gap between the radiator and the hood.

Does anyone know where I might locate one of those??

Oh, I didn't know there was a metal piece. I guess both if they're attached.

The metal piece is shaped as a reverse of the underside of the hood and the rubber strip slips on the metal and seals to the underside of the hood. I have the metal will have to look to see if I have the rubber. I am sure that the rubber seal is a standard piece that can be cut to length. jlp

A mod for better aerodynamics and cooling is to box in the front of the radiator to the grill; top, bottom and sides if you really want to seal things up :)

You don't list the year of your car, and if it's one of the earlier ones it didn't get that weatherstrip piece or medal ridge. If memory serves it was on the 73's and later.

Right, the 240 does not use, or have provisions for the rubber seal over the radiator. My 280 does.

On my '73 the rubber part in front is the same as the rubber part at the rear and is available from Black Dragon.

Cheers, Mike
