Skyhook Posted January 26, 2011 Share #13 Posted January 26, 2011 Mike,The Coca Cola windbreaker from the 71 ARRC covered up with patches is mine. Road Atlanta was my second home for many years. I enjoyed rubbing elbows with the BRE racers at the banquet. Brought back a lot of memories.

Barry Minbiole Posted October 6, 2011 Share #15 Posted October 6, 2011 Has there been a logo established with Land's End? Did this with our Miata club, and there are some times when there is no or low cost embroidery on their business outfitters items. Barry
kingofapes Posted December 25, 2011 Share #16 Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Here's a European rally team jacket from the early 1980's I believe.-Mike I had one of those (and in fact still do..) in the 90s. my father had gotten it brand new in the 80s when working for a datsun dealer. I bitterly regret that I used the jacket in my early motoring years when working on my car.. it got dirty motor oil stains ALL OVER IT and very worn in all possible ways. Then was neglected in a humid cellar for years and was mold infested. Found there in the later years during a move which was when I realized what stupid a** I had been. Then spent 10 years trying to find one for sale. Until a few years ago there was one on ebay. set my bid sky high and when the bid was over celebrated my "winning bid" after "congratulations, you won" message was shown. Until 2 seconds later it said, sorry, you didn't win. This is how I came to know auction sniper.. never lost a bid since but then again, never seen one of these for sale either. what a sweet jacket. i have thought of having a quality replica made using the ruined one as a template Edited December 25, 2011 by kingofapes

TomoHawk Posted December 25, 2011 Share #18 Posted December 25, 2011 Was there matching pants for any of those jackets? That would be an impressive sight, at a show or a competition event.

kingofapes Posted December 26, 2011 Share #21 Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) Was there matching pants for any of those jackets? . not that I have seen any. as for having replicas made, to get it done properly, I should consult with specialists in order to scale the same design in different sizes that actually fit. no use in making a pile of size L without having them available in all sizes. I have another vintage Datsun jacket too - that one in very good condition luckily I'll post a picture soon.. and btw, those are all very cool jackets posted in this thread! sweet. TomoHawk Posted December 26, 2011 Share #22 Posted December 26, 2011 No good-looking young McQueen look-alikes or college-age ladies to model the jackets?
TomoHawk Posted December 26, 2011 Share #23 Posted December 26, 2011 The stuff doesn't look like any special design to me. It's just your basic windbreaker, but not as baggy or loose-fitting (70's style, or "fashionably tight?") I suppose you could contact Adrian Zmed if you need any samples.
