Coolest engine sounds

I don't know about you folks, but one of my favorite things about cars are the cool engine sounds. I think this one takes the cake though.....the BRM V16...1.5L, 600 HP, revs to 12,000 RPM, supercharged.....it sounds WAY cool!

I thought maybe some of you might like to post more videos or links to more cool engine sounds.

The coolest sounding engines I have personaly witnessed were the Allison, Merlin, and Rolls-Royce WWII aircraft engines mounted in the 200+mph Thunder Boats of the early 80's, just before the jet engines became popular. If you were in the water you could hear and FEEL the power. A vibratory massage. :) That low rumble is awesome. I can only imagine what a squadren of them sounded like at take off.

That Countach and GT40 were sweet! I loved the quick turn the GT40 did. The Z race car was awesome too of course. I've always loved WW2-era airplanes, especially radial engines, but sticking those in a boat? That must have been really cool to hear and see!

Here are a couple more...

That BRM sounds "hair raising".

But listen to Greg Ira's machine at VIR, top speed!

It's probably my favorite Z sound ever.

The Subaru boxer-4 is an acquired taste. At first, I was not buying the odd-beat rumble. However, in a sort of reverse Clockwork Orange fashion, after driving a hopped up WRX for many years, my psyche associated the sound with pleasurable chemical brain excretions, aka adrenaline. I now salivate at the sound of the Subie boxers at full song.

Here is a little WRX memorial video I made, called "Save it for a Rainy Day"

Here is is with the full 2.5" exhaust system.

I recently sold the car and miss it dearly.

I know it's a ford, but the boost is unbearably epic
