no heat

Featured Replies

i have no idea whats wrong with my heater. it blows air as cold as can be but when i switch it to heat it will continue to blow air the only problems is that it wont get hot:dead:

Also make sure the heater hoses coming in through the firewall are hooked up correctly. If they're not on right, then you won't get any flow to the heatercore; therefore, no heat.

I had mine connected wrong at first, but have since got it corrected.

My 260Z had this problem a few weeks back. I tracked it down to leaking vacuum hoses. In my case, the ones under the solenoids, in the engine bay. Air conditioning worked, but the heater wouldn't get hot. It was fine after I replaced the cracked vacuum hose.

storm,

Are you referring to what zoom240 said ("In his case")? I think he meant in his situation.

Have you checked the cables under the passenger side feet area that operate the heat on/off lever? Make sure it's connected to the little metal bolt with a hole in it. Read the other suggestions in the link 2ManyZ's provided, and check your vaccuum hoses.

thanks for the info i feel really dumb right now but i will check that out later an ill keep ya'll informed

In my situation, the leaks were underneath the solenoid, but you'll have to trace them down yourself. I had a regular vacuum gauge, but a hand pump with gauge attached is a lot better for trouble shooting. Cost me $40 at the auto store.
