early 260Z's were almost basically late 73' 240Z's. That might explain it.

That was great! Of course I just just a kid back then but damn I used to love that corny show! I am sure I was amazed at the $9,950 Jaguar, that was about 2/3's of my fathers salary back then

I certainly qualify as an old bastard because I remember watching this show many nights around the big 25" black and white Magnavox console TV in the living room! The only thing I don't remember was there being so many Datsun's behind those stylish curtains.
