'76 2+2 no interior right now, I'm about to get busy on it...got to get the paint done 1st. I'll be fishing around here to get ideas and tips

Same stage as I was at nine years ago.Are you removing the motor and trans before painting ?It makes a much better job. A friend down here has a 260 2+2 ,280 motor and immaculate, goes well .I have a 1972 240 and love it.Very origional. They are getting hard to find in Zew Zealand.I would like to restore another one,but none for sale right now. When one is offered they sell quickly. There are only about a dozen or so nice S30 still on the road down here, and lot being raced. Good luck with the car. Cheers!

Tom welcome to our little spot of heaven. LOL I have been down the road you are traveling and am now enjoying the fruits of my labor. I did the whole restore my self at home in my garage. So have come across most things related. Many of us have done the same thing here so feel free to ask any question you may have. On the flip side , you can search the archives and you may find the info you seek there. If not just ask, either with a thread or a PM to whom ever you want to contact.

All the best , Gary

Thanx guys for the info...I've had this car since I was 18 (my 1st car), so it's been done and redone a couple of times. I want to make this job just right so I'm gonna take 2 years to get it right. I will be pulling the motor and tranny befor paint. The car has sat for about 6 years and I'm gonna have to go thru thr fuel system and get out the gunk.

My focus is paint right now and I want to do a candy apple blue, the car was silver origionaly and I'm looking to soda blast it back down to metal and bring it up from there. I know I'll be picking everyone's brains for stuff in the next several months. Thank you in advance for the help and if anyone needs a extra wrench in central Fl I'll get there asw fast as I can.

Happy new year

Hello Tom

Taking it down to the metal is the only way to find all the trouble spots and heal them. I am currently working on a 240 built in 3/72. I found it complete with all the interior and motor. It was fitted with an E88 cylinder but I don't plan to use it. The fitting of an N42 head with a bored and stroked lower end plus a diesel crankshaft will be the final setup. Good luck and take your time!

Welcome, it's great to see other people on here who enjoy our rides...

Welcome to the forum Tom. Let's see some pics of the car and the activities around it from the days of past when you get a chance. Especially those that onvolve bell bottoms, leisure suits, or generally tacky clothing and hairstyles. :)
