Can anyone identify this trans?

It says" TA71B #3 " "7Y07349" and it has 2 ears at shifter.

If this is for 81-82 ZX, why does it have oil temp sensor at the back as well as inspection hole at the bottom of bell housing like BW T5?

Very confused here.........

Are you sure it's a temperature sensor and not the reverse switch for the lights when backing up?

Pics look like the ones for the brand new 5 speed on ZCAR.com

Are they?

No, the one posted on Zcar.com (and also here, and hybridz.org) is an early Type A as used in '70-71 S30s in other parts of the world. That one is correct for '70-71, and will fit later S30s as well. completely different than the one pictured here.

I think this is the one RHChew is referring to Arne, http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/12/2031365.

I already i'd the trans in post 2. We discussed it before here.

I read your post before on the other transmission with different shifter area with different electric connectors. This one is the one I am considering buying off Zcars.com. This person claims that it is for his car 82 280ZX(81-82). What do you think?

Thanks Mike. Yes, that is the one. What do you think? It has 2 ears at shfter, and it kind'da looks like "B" Trans. What bothers me is that temp sensor at the back. Normally 280Z or 280ZX trans never come with one except 83 BW T5 one.

I guess I should have looked more closely at your pictures. I went by the 'TA71B' number that you posted. I wonder where the person that Lee280zx bought this from got them. It still looks like a Z31 trans to me. Perhaps it's a non USA trans.

Thank you for your comment. He said that he bought it from president of Z car club in San Diego area where he resides.

I see where it connects to the drive shaft seems diffeent from regular 280ZX trans..........

It doesn't have the Z31 type shifter so I don't know what it is.

I called Courtesy Nissan, MSA, and few other people.........

No luck. But I found out Even BW T5 does not have this temp sensor like thing at the back..... The seller does not know the detail, but he strongly belives that it fits any 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z, and Zxs. But the question is what is this for...........It came from Nissan dealer old stock, he said......
