i just drove my 72 z for the first 25 miles and found out it needs some shocks and stuff marbey some front wheel bearings but i love this car and damn it will fly

Congratulations!

Zs like to move it, move it!

Be sure it is wheel bearings you are hearing and feeling and not just rusty, unused brakes!

well the breaks do squeel but it is the stearing wheel moveing left to right a little but wen driving

The wheel wobble could be a number of things. I'd start out making sure all the lug nuts are snug, check and adjust the preload on the wheel bearings, check for slop in the ball joints and tie rod ends, inspect the tires for out of roundness or bulges, check for wheel damage, check for slop in the steering rack, rotor warpage, and get the wheels balanced. Due to the age of these cars, it's generally a combination of one or more of these things so hit em one by one until the wobble is gone.

jack up the front end-both wheels off the ground-and give each wheel a left to right shake.

At eyelevel, you should be able to see and feel where the "give" is, and clearly identify if it is wheel bearings, Lugs, ball joints, or the rack.

Don't forget to check your bushings, lots-o-slop there with old rubber!

Just some advice John...people on this board don't generally respond well to "txt lingo". I think most of us on here grew up before text messaging. Throw in some punctuation, an occasional period, and use real words, and you'll get better responses.

This isn't directed at you John, since I don't know you, but I honestly think a lot of young people are fast becoming functionally-illiterate because of "txt speak".

Springs sag over time, replacements aren't that expensive, and with something like the Eibach Pro Kit, your handling will improve as well!

There is a great deal of info on sound deadening in the the archives.

I have used Second Skin audio products: http://www.secondskinaudio.com/

I have used their firewall product, the Damplifier Pro™, and several other things.
