Hellow felow Z owners

Featured Replies

My name is Dustin and I own a Datsun 260Z 1974 Built in August of 1973 and I had a Question About my car So I decided to join. It's pearl white, 4-speed manual, and the engine i am not so sure about. All I know as of now that the engine is a L28 block,(not what came with car of course) and it has a Clifford intake. It has a 650 Holley which i don't like. But i was wondering does switching it out for a edelbrock more reasonable because it seems to be running rich. Any help or critisism would be appreciated I would just like to know. Thank you all for your time.

I don't pretend to know how to setup a four barrel on a Z car, but I think that a 650 CFM carburetor is too big for even an L28. Seems like they need a 390 CFM unit, and special jets.

But otherwise, I agree with Carl.

Sell the carb and intake on ebay/craigs list and get a set of Ztherapy SUs and intake, your right foot will thank you!

Agreed. Sell the 4 barrel and go SU's...

If you want to get really exciting...triple webers (but you'll need a bigger cam, headers, etc...)

Have fun on the ride.

Cool Thanks!! I got another project coming up (RB 25 det in a 260) don't know what your feelings are on this but I love All nissans and Datsuns and I love odd projects and a skyline engine in a z would be nice. I would restore to original but it has no drivetrain so to me its a clean slate. When I sell My 72 lemans (I know non nissan-datsun but still cool) I am going to town on both cars so the holley setup might be nice for now then Ill switch to SU's Thanks alot!!!!!
