Should we be worried?

GM owns Saab also...

Yes they do, good catch.

And Ford also owns a minority stake in Mazda.

But back to the subject

I don't think that we have anything to worry about.

And Ford also owns a minority stake in Mazda.

Actually, the Japanese government made Ford up their stake in Mazda and now they're the majority owner. Globalization at its best.

What is it that we should be worried about? That there's any chance that we would run into something like this with the Datsun logo? Considering the lack of concern that Nissan shows for anything 'Datsun', I don't think there's anything to worry about. And I don't even get this....sounds like one of fullhouse's posts:

everything will be fine again... no need to worry

?????????????????????????????????????????????

It's still considered a minority stake, because Ford owns 33.9% now (previously it was 15%). Ford increased its ownership because Mazda was having financial problems, not so much a government requirement. And because it doesn't have over 50% it's not a majority. It is a controlling stake however.
