I registered on the Classic Registry, but it hasn't been updated yet. It was mfg 02/70 and I'll have to check again for the engine numbers.

I found the engine number. I found out he had swapped the engine for a L26. The engine number is L26-110610.

Might be worth it to see if he has the old block around somewhere. Matching engines enhance the value of the early cars considerably from what we've seen of the market.

The guy that swapped the engine was the guy that owned the car before the guy I bought it from.

That is a fantastic starting point. That z has tons of potential! Im anxious to see where it will go!

Can I display jealousy and curse you now? I thought I was lucky to find a rust free, NON-running '72 that needs a lot of cosmetics for $500. Just goes to show there's always a better deal out there.

$200 bucks and drove it home? Thats very good. If the guy was asking 2 grand, I would have made him knock it down to 1 grand just because he put crushed velvet seat covers and door panels in there.
