Shifter problem

Featured Replies

MSA wouldn't have brass bushings that I'm aware of. I never owned a Dodge, I just remember that it said that on the package. I did own a 71 Plymouth Duster 340 6 pak that I wish I had today. It's probably rarer than a sub 500 VIN 240Z.

How difficult is it to replace those bushings? I was going to ask the same question . My 79 shifter has felt a bit sloppy a of late.

Ebay has several shifter bushings for sale. Just search there for "240z shifter".

The hardest part on changing the bushings is keeping track of the c-clip on the end of the cross pin that the bushings fit over. The clip wants to fly away when you pry it off unless you are very careful.
