brake booster hoses

Featured Replies

i need to replace the brake booster hoses and MSA says the engine side hose is discontinued. Since a vacuum exists in the hose i do not want the hose to collapse. Would fuel line or heater hose of the appropriate size work? or do i need to try and snag one off ebay.

thanks.

I got some from the dealer a few weeks back.....might be worth a shot.

No. Heater hose won't work. You need an internally reinforced hose to prevent collapse.

part#64-153 engine side servo hose....$39.95 (1970-6/71) Not sure why not 1972-1973, though...

Later 240Zs changed the location on the balance tube that the hose connects to, so it takes a different hose. Might be able to use the early hose if you move the fitting.

I tried ordering one from them several weeks ago and it was out of stock or NLA. Looking at their latest catalog, there is no listing for anything between 7/71-74. Let me know if you find a source. I'll do the same.

...or just use an early balance tube
