Radio..No sound

Featured Replies

I will be the first to admit that Radio's and wiring are not my strong point. This has to be so simple, but I can't figure it out. Got in the car this morning radio is working fine. Just went out to the store, and the radio lights are on, but no sound. I checked the speakers, contacts are good. There is no static, or any type of sound what-so-ever, however the radio is working fine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Randy

if i were you i'd check the connections to the back of the radio, then see if any wires happened to get pinched. if all else fails, give her the ol' smackaroo

Is it the original Datsun AM FM radio?

Jerry

No, it's an aftermarket am/fm cassette.

You inserted a Blank Tape?

Data CD instead of Music CD?

Picture DVD instead of CD?

Volume turned down to Zero?

The DX/Local switch has been changed and there are no local stations?

AM band has no stations in that area?

Antenna has been disconnected?

Radio lighting on a separate circuit than power feed?

Burnt Power Fuse?

You're tuned into the National Bereavement Radio channel and all they broadcast are minutes of silence?

Fader control set to all Rear speaker and there are no Rear speakers? (or vice versa)

Otherwise, I question that the radio is "working fine".

Ok, I'm still laughing after that last post. I have no idea why but I took eracer's advice and did give it a good smack(out of frustration I admit).....Radio's working fine now. So, I guess I'll be tracking down all the #$!#$% wires.

ridiculous as it may seem, smacking the radio out of frustration has prevented me on several occasions from buying a new head unit! it's probably the connector in the back or a wire whose integrity has been compromised. glad to hear it's working now!

Well I have very little sound. I can hear it slightly when the car is off but forget it once it is reved up. Any suggestions?
