I'm new here and this is my first post. This club has been very helpful in my Z project. I've been able to find most of the information I need by using the search feature but I've not been able to find two things.

1. I need a mast for my 73 Z OEM antenna. The search shows that they should be available but I'm unable to find them. Can anybody help?

2. Which side of the rear should the tow hook go on. I'm in a reassembly mode and forgot where it was.

Thanks, Larry

Not sure that I can help you with the parts, but welcome to the club regardless!

Motorsport has replacement masts in their catalog, I don't know if they are really available or not.

I believe the tow hook on my '71 is on the left side. Don't have the car here at work to verify, though.

Thanks Arne,

I'll put it on the left side. The web catalog for Motorsport only lists the whole replacement, not just the mast. I'll try to contact them directly.

if i recall correctly i think mine is on the right side.... i'll have to llok.... WELCOME!

also, what part of SD are you in?

The right side is probably correct. The left would put it awfully close to the exhaust pipe.

I live in Ramona.

I knew there was a reason I recalled seeing one on the left side - my car has two, one on each side!

cool cool. i'm in clairemont myself..

Just to clarify we're actually talking about tie-down hooks here. They were used to secure the cars on ships. On the front of the car is a solid ring that would be more appropriate for towing.

good info to know!

I'm not sure I would rate ANY of them as TOW hooks.

It sure wouldn't be fun to discover you rip the frame rail out from under the car in a sudden lurch.

I stand corrected. I did know what they were used for. Were there two or just one in back. Maybe I need another one, although after putting the one on I liked the look better without any. I guess if I have to get towed it might be useful though.
