Hey Miles. just curious what the yellow and red sections on the speedo signify? Is this an RPM warning because your car doesn't have a tach, or is it something else?

Red = danger

You may turn into a mushroom at speeds over 100 MPH (160 Km/h)

A mushroom? That's ok, I'm used to being fed bullshit and kept in the dark. :)

Probably yellow = caution and red = danger for speed. Makes sense since most Japan roads are narrow and twisty. Oh yeah, the speed limit for most major roads is 40 kph (25 mph) and the expressway is 80 kph (50 mph). If the traffic is willing, you can get up to 140 kph on the expressway and 60 kph on ther roads.

Cool Miles - my car did this 18,000km ago, but I missed it :(

It looks like you have a friend who enjoys the ride on your car's needle??

P.S. I believe according to Nissan yellow = "do not use this speed range often", and red = "never use this speed range". Makes sense. I wonder if it has something to do with government safety regulations in Japan. Fairlady Zs, C110 Skylines etc. all had the yellow and red ranges, but I don't know of any export cars that did.
